We are delighted to present an exhibition dedicated to William N. Copley (*1919-1996), whose work bridges the worlds of Surrealism and Pop Art with humour, wit, and a deep personal visual language.
Copley’s paintings are known for their bold outlines and cartoon-like forms, often depicting n**e female figures entangled in scenes of domestic life, play, or desire. In this exhibition, these familiar motifs meet cowboys, saloons, and the iconography of the Wild West, merging irony, eroticism, and Americana into surreal narratives.
His work exists between between irony and sincerity; a world where humour and critique coexist in vivid colour and sharp line.
