Filafriques is thrilled to announce a second participation to the coming 1-54 art fair in London from 16-18 October 2025 ! The gallery will feature for the first time in UK, works by romanian congolese artist Maliza kiasuwa. Her “Rhizomes” are a series of sculptures inspired by organic forms and the networks of living things. The ropes evoke roots—invisible bonds that connect beings. Drawing on the concept of the rhizome developed by Gilles Deleuze, these works explore multiplicity, connection, and transformation. Here, nature becomes a metaphor for human complexity. The weaving here is not a collection of threads but a network of relationships between the threads. Everything holds together with a certain fragility. Save the date and come meet us there !

Filafriques is thrilled to announce a second participation to the coming 1-54 art fair in London from 16-18 October 2025 ! The gallery will feature for the first time in UK, talented nigerian Joseph Eze. In his latest series, « head in space » the artist is trying to imagine the black hair culture breaking out of enclosed spaces or boxes, in spaces outside societal stereotypes. Save the date and come meet us there !

LAST DAYS to (re)discover our summer black & white duo show unveiling « Rhizomes », latest works by congolese romanian artist Maliza Kiasuwa and last available editions of « Vela », by South African photographer Gavin Goodman in the gallery in Geneva.

“Rhizomes” is a series of sculptures inspired by organic forms and the networks of living things. The ropes evoke roots—invisible bonds that connect beings. Drawing on the concept of the rhizome developed by Gilles Deleuze, these works explore multiplicity, connection, and transformation. Here, nature becomes a metaphor for human complexity. The weaving here is not a collection of threads but a network of relationships between the threads. Everything holds together with a certain fragility.

“Vela, meaning “to appear” or “to emerge” in Xhosa and Zulu, speaks to the heart of this series. These works reflect the surfacing of beauty from tradition and the unfolding of form into a contemporary space. They don’t replicate African heritage, but rather appear as something new — interpreted through minimalist restraint and personal vision. Each hand-painted piece is a quiet unveiling, drawn from traditional garments and reimagined through a modern lens.” Gavin Goodman

A new temptation, 2026 by Reggie Khumalo

The painting has found a wonderful place in my practice, hanging just above the couch where my clients sit. The message of the work, together with Reggie’s incredible command of colour and texture, is shared with everyone who enters the room.

The reactions have been amazing. I especially love how naturally the work fits into the space — it doesn’t simply decorate the room, but really adds to its atmosphere.

A special thank you to Reggie Khumalo for his mastery. It is a real pleasure to have his work here.
