Abstract cubism artist and ALO member, Marian Gaucher, will have these fascinating pieces available for sale or rent at our show this Saturday May 30!

You can find them at Jim Durrell Recreation Centre, 10am to 4pm. Free admission and free parking.

Kaleidoscope - Marian Gaucher Fine Art
Oil on Canvas - 20 X 20 inches – 52 X 52 cm

A still life comprised of coloured glass objects, surrounded by mirrors… the very nature of a kaleidoscope! The vision for the ‘kaleidoscope’ painting was to feature the complex character of that still life in an abstract way. The arrangement of objects and mirrors provided abundant opportunity for different shapes, geometrics, unpredictable lines and creativity.

Wine Touring - Marian Gaucher Fine Art
Oil on Canvas - 24 X 18 inches - 61 X 46 cm

An array of vignettes speaks to the vision for the artwork…inviting the viewers on a colourful wine tour… the vineyard, grapes harvest, wine-making, bottling, and enjoying a glass while viewing the vineyard. The subjects have been abstracted to keep them identifiable while presenting a puzzle for the eyes.

Erika Farkas will exhibit works from her “Altered Realism” series. By blending traditional black and white portraiture with imaginative and abstract elements, she aims to push the boundaries of artistic expression and to invite viewers to question their own perceptions of reality.

The juxtaposition of classic beauty with fantastical elements hopefully creates a captivating and thought-provoking experience for the audience, allowing them to explore new dimensions of creativity and interpretation.

Our next show is just over two weeks away and we are excited to share with you some of the artworks we will have available for rent or purchase.

This is the perfect time to consider sprucing up the cottage with some new art for the summer! Rentals are for three month terms with the option to renew or purchase.
