On April 9, 1917, during the Battle of Vimy Ridge, the 3rd Battalion (Toronto Regiment), CEF took part in one of the most significant battles in Canadian history. This marked the first time the Canadian Corps fought together as a unified force.
The 3rd Battalion participated in the second phase of the assault, with their ultimate objective being the capture of Farbus Woods. This heavily defended area was critical, as it protected enemy field artillery positions, making its capture essential to the success of the overall operation.
