Government House - Saskatchewan Experience history. Experience the magic. Experience Government House! Discover Government House, a true Canadian treasure! FREE Admission!

Built in 1891, this grand building first served as the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of the North-West Territories. Restored to the period of Lieutenant Governor Amedee Forget, who was in office from 1898-1910, the museum gives you a glimpse of life at Government House at the turn of the 20th century. We feature engaging exhibits, art gallery, museum set in 1905, interpretive tours & 8.5 acres of beautiful Edwardian Gardens.

Looking for a free Halloween event this season for you and your family? Head to Government House for Tricks and Treats! 🎃

🗓️ Sunday, October 25
🕰️ 1 - 4 p.m.
✅ No fee or registration required

🎩 Dress in your Halloween costumes (spooky or not!).
🍫 Trick or treat throughout the museum with many stops along the way (first come, first served, while supplies last).

We will offer tours on a first-come, first-served basis every 20 minutes starting at 6 p.m. with the last tour leaving at 8:20 p.m. Tours will be about 40 minutes in length.

✅ No fee or pre-registration is required.

Note: This event is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

Reservations are now open for November’s Victorian Tea with the Government House Historical Society! ☕

🚨 This is the final regular tea weekend of the year! 🚨

📅 November 7 and 8
🕰️ Sittings take place at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

☕ A typical adult Victorian tea consists of
biscuits with butter and preserves, three sandwiches (cucumber, egg and ham), your choice of one of three desserts and bottomless pots of tea.

Have you experienced our new exhibit in the QEII Art Gallery yet? There’s no better time! ✨

🏖️ “Birds of the Beach” 🐦
Presented by SaskAbilities' Camp Easter Seal

🎨 Created in celebration of SaskAbilities' 75th anniversary in 2025, this whimsical exhibit contains the work of thirteen Saskatchewan artists who were given the name of a local bird and were asked to use their own style of painting on a panel.

🐦 Together, these paintings are known as "Birds of the Beach".

💙 During the summer, these panels will be proudly displayed on the cabin doors at Camp Easter Seal (a division of SaskAbilities). Located on the shore of Little Manitou Lake, Camp Easter Seal is the only fully barrier-free wheelchair accessible camp in the province that draws campers from over 80 different communities from around Saskatchewan.

Now available to view in the Queen Elizabeth II (QEII) Art Gallery at Government House until January 10, 2027.

Enjoy an afternoon of free, family-friendly Halloween fun at Government House. Trick or treat throughout the many rooms of the Amédée Forget Museum (first come, first served while supplies last), listen to Halloween stories and experience one of Saskatchewan’s best family magic acts, Danny Kazam, with a special Halloween magic show!

No fee or registration required.

We are open Tuesday-Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Join us at the top of every hour for guided tours.
