The RCMP Heritage Centre is dedicated to sharing the story of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Canada’s national police force. Known informally as the “Mounties”, the Force is recognized the world over for its iconic dress uniform featuring the red serge tunic, Stetson hat, and high brown boots. Guests of the RCMP Heritage Centre can experience both the historical and modern day stories o

f the RCMP through a variety of traditional and state-of-the-art exhibits, a virtual and augmented reality experiences, and live events. The Centre is located on the doorstep of RCMP Academy, “Depot” Division, where Mounties have trained since 1885. Given its close proximity, the Centre offers guests a unique glimpse into the life of cadets at RCMP Academy, Depot Division. There are also a variety of live experiences visitors can take in at “Depot” (the Sergeant Major’s Parade featuring cadets throughout the year, as well as Sunset-Retreat Ceremonies, and guided Driving Tours of “Depot” Division during the summer months). Treaty 4 is home to the Nehiyaw/Cree, Saulteaux, Dakota, Lakota, Nakota and formerly Blackfoot peoples, in addition to being the homeland of the Métis Nation. Visit our galleries to explore over a century of Royal Canadian Mounted Police history, from the formation of the North-West Mounted Police in 1873, to the modern day Mountie.

Le Centre du patrimoine de la GRC a pour but de présenter l’histoire de la Gendarmerie royale du Canada (GRC), le corps policier national. Les gendarmes sont connus partout dans le monde pour l’uniforme emblématique composé de la tunique rouge, le chapeau Stetson et les bottes hautes. Les visiteurs au Centre du patrimoine de la GRC auront l’expérience de l’histoire et de la vie moderne de la GRC par l’entremise d’une variété d’expositions conventionnelles et de fine pointe, d’expériences de réalité virtuelle et augmentée ainsi que des événements en direct. Le Centre est situé à côté de l’École de la GRC, Division Dépôt, où l’on forme les gendarmes depuis 1885. Grâce à sa proximité, le centre offre des visites uniques de la Division Dépôt ainsi que des expériences uniques, comme le Défilé du sergent-major, les cérémonies du crépuscule ainsi que des tours de la Division Dépôt. Le Centre du patrimoine de la GRC est situé sur le territoire visé par le Traité no 4, le territoire traditionnel des peuples Nehiyaw/Cree, Saulteaux, Dakota, Lakota, Nakota et anciennement Pieds-Noirs ainsi que la patrie de la nation métisse. The RCMP Heritage Centre, in partnership with RUSIRegina, is proud to host "Who Wears the Uniform", sharing firsthand stories from Canadian Armed Forces members.

We invite you to attend the opening on May 25th at 3 pm at the RCMP Heritage Centre which will be free for the public to attend.

It will be accompanied by "MISSION: AFGHANISTAN" and scheduled screenings of the film Fallen Heroes: Their Journey Home. This is the first time Mission: Afghanistan will be coming to Saskatchewan.

As you explore the stories in this exhibit, we hope you will gain insight into the remarkable experiences and incredible challenges faced by the men and women who have served our country.

This exhibit will run from May 25 to August 22 and is made possible thanks to RUSI Regina and the Veteran Affairs Commemorative Partnership Program.

Did you know you can explore more than a century of RCMP history right where Mounties have trained since 1885? 🍁

Located in Regina, the RCMP Heritage Centre invites visitors to experience the story of Canada’s national police force through interactive exhibits, immersive experiences, and powerful storytelling. It’s a place to learn, reflect, and see the many chapters that have shaped the RCMP over time.

With support from PrairiesCan, the Centre continues to grow as it works toward becoming a national museum, welcoming visitors to learn, reflect, and connect with these important stories.

Step beyond the gates of the RCMP Academy and experience a behind-the-scenes tour only available through the RCMP Heritage Centre.
