8 Heritage Buildings to Explore! Current Hours: 11-5 Thurs-Mon (Closed on BC Stat Holidays)

The Parksville Museum is located next to the Parksville Info Center at 1245 East Island Highway. Aside from the wonderful array of historical artifacts located in the main building, the site also encompasses 8 heritage buildings that serve as a window into the life of early Parksville settlers. The grounds are always open: come and enjoy!

We're excited to be steaming ahead toward Railway Day this Sunday, August 23, from 10 AM–3 PM! πŸ•™

Join us for our 8th annual Railway Day, where we're putting the history and excitement of the rails front and centre. Grab your crew, hop aboard, and make a day of it! πŸš‚πŸŽŸοΈ

Here's what's rolling into the station:
πŸš† Model railway displays β€” a must-see for train enthusiasts of all ages!
πŸ”Ž Train-themed scavenger hunt β€” follow the clues and see where the tracks take you!
♨️ Live steam demonstrations by Nanaimo Science
🎢 Train-themed music by Back Porch Banjo in the afternoon!
🎯 Lawn games for the whole family
🍩 Bees Knees Mini Donuts β€” because no railway adventure is complete without snacks!
AND
🎬 Free hourly screenings of Rocky Mountain Express β€” get your FREE ticket from the main hall when you arrive to reserve your seat!
Screenings run on the hour, and tickets are FREE. This 45-minute film takes you along the rails and through the history of railway travel in the Rocky Mountains.
**A special thank you to Oceanside Soundfor getting us all set up with the good gear for the film screenings!**

We've also just received a box of Classic Trains and Model Railroader magazines! The photo featured here comes from one of the magazines. They'll be waiting in the main hall for you to peruse while you're exploring the Museum.
