Join acclaimed island author Kim Bannerman for Dream of Fairyland: Circus History in 1920s BC on Saturday, June 20, from 2:00–3:30 PM at our Heritage Church.

Travel back in time and discover the real-life travelling animal shows, colourful performers, lively bands, and unforgettable personalities that brought entertainment to remote coastal communities around the Salish Sea. Learn how these remarkable stories inspired Kim’s beloved Circus Salmagundi mystery series, set around Vancouver Island.

A dash of Taj Mahal, a sprinkle of B.B. King, and a few drops of Lightnin' Hopkins — that's the irresistible sound of Brandon Isaak.

Join us on Thursday, June 18, from 7–9 PM for an unforgettable evening with award-winning songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist Steve Somers.

Big Rigs, Good Dogs, Old Barns, and Bootleggers is a captivating collection of folk songs and stories celebrating the humour, hardship, and heart of rural island life.🎻

Originally from Prince Edward Island and now based in BC’s Lower Mainland, Steve brings together Americana, bluegrass, and East Coast influences in performances filled with memorable characters, heartfelt stories, laughter, and song. Along the way, he shares the inspiration behind the music, creating a warm and engaging experience for audiences of all ages.
