All are welcome to attend our monthly membership meetings and bring a guest! Founded in 1967, the Oshawa Art Association (OAA) has been a cornerstone of the local arts community for over five decades. Within its first year, the OAA grew to 150 members—and we’ve been going strong ever since! We meet on the second Wednesday of each month from September to June at 7 p.m. at the Arts Resource Centre i

n Oshawa. These meetings are open to both members and guests, featuring opportunities to connect, share ideas, and enjoy live demonstrations or presentations by talented local and national artists. The OAA hosts:
Workshops
An Annual Juried Art Exhibition
Spring & Fall Art Festivals
Art Crawls and Paint Battles
Participation in community events like the Peony Festival and Convergence

New for 2025: We were excited to launch our Mural & Art Walk Initiative, highlighting public art on the streets of the downtown heritage district of Oshawa. Whether you're an emerging or established artist, we invite you to drop in, get involved, and experience the creative energy of the OAA. We’re a friendly, inclusive group of artists making a difference in Durham Region’s cultural landscape. http://www.oshawaartassociation.com

One of the most enjoyable volunteer opportunities is simply chatting with festival visitors who are interested in the arts and learning more about the OAA. We'll have information brochures available to hand out, and it's also a great chance to spread the word about our Fall Art Festival at Camp Samac this October. We will also need help with the popular Paint Battles, and with enough support, we may offer painting activities for young and young at heart.
Please register for one or more Convergence 2026 - Volunteers slots . Any and all help will be welcomed.
We can only continue to participate in promotional activities such as this with support from our members.

The Oshawa Art Association will be offering two member activities at CONVERGENCE this year. We are bringing back the popular Paint Battles (for OAA members), and are offering OAA members the opportunity to do live painting demonstrations (bring those business cards). Both provide our members a great opportunity to get your art seen and to have some fun!

Paint Battles for adults will take place on Saturday, Sept 19. First round - 2 PM (Check-in at 1:30 pm)

Opportunities for live painting demonstrations available both Saturday and Sunday. Members will need to provide their own easels for demonstrations.
