This session reviews the realities of WWI trench warfare and explores the key factors, including Canadian cohesion and tactical artillery, that led to victory. Keith will highlight the roles played by British Columbia units, including the 2nd Canadian Mounted Ri**es (CMR), and discuss the battle’s achievements, iconic monument, and enduring legacy.

Pray, dear guests, do join us for a most curious glimpse into the spooky history of spirit photography and early Kelowna Halloween. You shall have the rare opportunity to create your very own haunting photographs, employing an authentic technique from the 19th century. How delightfully eerie!

Following our curious presentation, you are invited to linger awhile, partake in pleasant conversation, and enjoy the company of fellow artisans whilst tending to your latest artistic endeavour. Light refreshments and snacks shall be provided for your enjoyment.

Wow, what an incredible day! 🧡 Thank you to the over 500 community members who joined us yesterday at the Okanagan Heritage Museum for our National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Open House.

Seeing so many of you take the time to first support KFS's march, then visit, learn, and share with us was incredibly moving. Moments like yesterday show the true heart of our community.

A huge thank you as well to our extraordinary staff and dream team of volunteers. This day wouldn't have been possible without your hard work and dedication.

Join us at the Okanagan Heritage Museum from 12 to 4pm for the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation. Staff and volunteers will be on site to facilitate guided and self-guided learning stations, and 94 Calls to Action Reading Circles will run from 12 to 1:30pm and again from 2 to 3:30pm (pre-registration is appreciated--link in bio).

Admission on this day is by donation. All proceeds will go towards making our Indigenous education programs free to access for Indigenous community members. In 2025, we waived over $8,000 in program fees.

Please also consider supporting our friends at Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society from 10am to 12pm, Sncewips from 10am to 4pm, and Metis Community Services (Mashkwa Healing Grounds, 2300 Lynrick Rd) from 3pm to 5pm.
