The New Iceland Heritage Museum Welcome to the New Iceland Heritage Museum - a gateway to understanding the unique history of New Iceland in Canada.

Dedicated to the preservation and promotion of a unique chapter in Canadian settlement history, the establishment of New Iceland. In addition new permanent exhibits feature a stunning collection of rocks and minerals from Iceland!! At the Lake Winnipeg Visitor Centre across the street, the museum presents the natural history of Lake Winnipeg and the fishing industry including a 500 gallon fish tank and full size 1940's whitefish boat!

We’re celebrating 140 years of Lögberg-Heimskringla!

As part of our anniversary celebrations, we’re excited to premiere a new 17-minute film, “A Modern Icelandic Saga: The Story of Lögberg-Heimskringla.” The film looks at LH’s remarkable journey since 1886, the challenges it has faced and the Icelandic community that has kept it going for 140 years.

Two premieres coming up:
September 19 in Winnipeg and October 16 in Burnaby.
