The New Iceland Heritage Museum Welcome to the New Iceland Heritage Museum - a gateway to understanding the unique history of New Iceland in Canada.

Dedicated to the preservation and promotion of a unique chapter in Canadian settlement history, the establishment of New Iceland. In addition new permanent exhibits feature a stunning collection of rocks and minerals from Iceland!! At the Lake Winnipeg Visitor Centre across the street, the museum presents the natural history of Lake Winnipeg and the fishing industry including a 500 gallon fish tank and full size 1940's whitefish boat!

On Friday May 8th, the Executive Director of the Association of Manitoba Museums, Michelle Kading presented the Award for Excellence for the Centennial Celebrations New Iceland/Aldarafmæli Nýja Ísland 1975 exhibit.
