The Gallery is located near the heart of downtown Courtenay, a few blocks from the Comox Valley Art Gallery, on the corner of Cumberland and Fitzgerald.

So disappointed that Sheree-Lee Powsey will not be able to be our feature poet this coming Monday at Artful : The Poets 😔 We will be proceeding with host Natalie Nickerson leading our usual open mic for the evening. Sheree-Lee will be re-scheduled in the future.

Be sure to join us for what is sure to be a very heartfelt evening on Saturday with a reading from Kelly Madden’s newly published (Caitlin Press) “Unresponsive”. Raw, unflinching and necessary, “Unresponsive” descends into the alleys, shelters and forgotten corners where the addicted, the discarded and the lonely struggle to survive. Urgent in tone and moral clarity, the collection stands as a call to action in the face of the overdose crisis and the growing catastrophe of unhoused life - issues that have become the defining failures of our time. 7 to 9pm, by donation at the door.

This watercolour, “Dordogne Abbey (monks & crows)”by Roger Vermeulen has absolutely been the favourite piece in this exhibition. It sold the night of the opening, and could have sold again almost every da6 of the exhibition! Thankfully, there have been lots of other great choices to entice buyers 🎈Don’t let the sunshine distract you from visiting. exhibition ends Sept 26th. Gallery hours, Weds to Sat, 12-5pm.

Perfect cap to end a holiday weekend! Artful : The Poets tonight features Brenda Deakin with host Dan Kirk (and yes, I know that’s not what the poster says 🤪) Open mic follows the feature, sign up at the door for your 5 minutes of fame. $10 or pwyc. We start promptly at 7 bells. Join us!
