What a wonderful surprise today, which was inspired by our 2025 Exhibit of Vrijheid!/Freedom on the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Netherlands. Visitors to that exhibit returned today to donate one of their own personal copy of the Diary of Anne Frank book (In Dutch), which her father gave her, as well as a brand new copy of the same-language book. These books will be part of a section on the Holocaust should we find a new building in the near future. Thank you to Karin de Vries of the Netherlands for the wonderful donation to our museum.

NOTE: Though HAMM will be closing its doors temporarily on November 11th of this year, we are still accepting donations of arttefacts, letters, uniforms, and family heirlooms related to events from the Boer War up through the Mission in Afghanistan. Fundraising will continue to help pay for storage costs while in "dry dock" and to cover expenses to renovate any new building we find that will be the perfect permanent home for the Memorial.

Earlier today, we held the Bells for the 59 at the Bell of Remembrance. We had the great honour of having a couple from California visit HAMM shortly before the Ceremony, and we asked if they wanted to participate. Here is the Ceremony for you to experience.
