Trembling Aspen Pottery Trembling Aspen Pottery is the work of Laura Gosnell. All pots are created individually, crafted by Clay classes were a reward for completing her studies.

Laura began working in clay in 1998, right after graduating with an environmental biology degree. Little did she know it would start her on an entirely different path of learning. Not forgetting her science studies, Laura is driven to work in a sustainable manner and is exploring studio practices that reduce energy consumption and promote the responsible use of material. She strives to make beautiful work that endures, in hopes to counter the current consumer trend towards the disposable.

The Cowichan Artisans are a group of professional artisans on Vancouver Island who operate galleries or studios, and create on a full-time basis. They offer studio tours twice yearly, and a sampling of their work now fills our main window display. Their self-guided Fall Tour is October 24 and 25, 2026. This preview is a great opportunity to see a sampling of their work. Pottery is by Margit Nellemann.

I’m very excited to be teaching a workshop hosted by the Clay Artists of Terrace Society at the end of May. It’s a lively homecoming of sorts, as I was one of the founding members over 20 years ago! Time flies, and I can wait to see what this vibrant Clay community has been up to since I’ve been gone. Check out their website for more information about how to register.

A big snuffle of gratitude to everyone who came through the gallery this weekend for the spring tour, from Juniper and I. She’s doggo tired from all the visiting and I may have had my feet up a little as well. Lots of lovely people to share the weekend with! My cup is full💕
