On a Saddening Note
Norman Delong passed in his 65th year on the evening of May 11th, 2026 with his wife Heather Girdle Delong by his side at Hospice Huronia Tompkins House after a battle with Glioblastoma.
He would want to be remembered for his sense of humour, his wit, easy laugh, nerf sharp shooting skills, and most importantly as a devoted husband for 39 years, dedicated father of 5 children, loving grandfather, brother, and well loved uncle. He is survived by his wife Heather, his children Alex Delong, Marie Delong (Andrew), Norah (Matthew), George Reginald Darrin Delong (Sarah), Freya Louise (Corbin), and two grandsons Lincoln and Lucas, as well as many of his siblings, nieces, and nephews.
He most recently worked with Barrie transit, but his past professions include trucking/transportation, Dimas Rides, Conklin Shows, & construction. He was also a Veteran of the Canadian Forces.
