For St. Maarten-born, New Jersey-based artist Deborah Jack, FUZE Caribbean Art Fair offers a space for shared experience—bringing artists, thinkers and audiences from across the Caribbean and its diaspora together within the region.
At FUZE 2025, Jack joined the fair in Nassau, reflecting on the importance of gathering, exchange and the connections that emerge when Caribbean creative communities come together.
Working across photography, video, sound, installation and text, Jack’s practice explores memory, history, landscape and the sea, often considering the shared experiences and histories that connect the Caribbean across islands and generations.
As we look ahead to FUZE 2026: Coming Home, her reflections speak directly to the idea of homecoming—FUZE as a meeting place where the region and its diaspora can return, reconnect and encounter one another through contemporary Caribbean art.
Hear from Deborah as she reflects on her experience at FUZE 2025 and the importance of creating a space like FUZE within the region.
