ꜰʀ | En novembre 2026, Kanal ouvre ses portes avec une performance collective portée par un chœur de plus de 300 personnes. Votre voix peut en faire partie!
Que vous chantiez déjà dans une chorale ou que vous n’ayez encore jamais chanté en groupe, vous êtes invité·e à rejoindre l’aventure. Aucune expérience musicale n’est nécessaire. Il suffit d’avoir envie de chanter, de rencontrer d’autres personnes et de participer à un moment collectif exceptionnel.

ꜰʀ | 🧱 Et si un musée ne se contentait pas de conserver des œuvres, mais aussi de préserver des histoires? "Bruxelles fabrique" récolte les récits de la ville, brique par brique. Chaque céramique porte le souvenir, la pensée, un fragment de vie d'un·e habitant·e bruxellois·e.

Lors d'ateliers organisés avec l’Atelier des Tropiques, on a vu des cœurs dessinés pour parler des émotions, des noms et des symboles pour raconter une culture, des vélos et des livres chargés de souvenirs, ou encore des mots qui transmettent des savoirs de génération en génération.

ɴʟ | 🧱 Wat als een museum zich niet alleen zou beperken tot het bewaren, maar ook verhalen zou laten circuleren? "Bruxelles fabrique" verzamelen we de verhalen van de stad, steen voor steen. Elk keramiekstuk draagt de herinnering, de gedachte, een stukje leven van een Brusselse inwoner of inwoonster.

Tijdens de workshops die samen met het Atelier des Tropiques werden georganiseerd, zagen we hartjes die emoties uitdrukten, namen en symbolen die een cultuur vertelden, fietsen en boeken vol herinneringen, of woorden die kennis van generatie op generatie doorgeven.

ᴇɴ | 🧱 What if a museum didn’t just preserve, but also shared people's stories? With the project "Bruxelles fabrique", Kanal is collecting the city’s stories, brick by brick. Each piece of ceramics carries a memory, a thought, or a fragment of a Brussels resident’s life.

During workshops organised with Atelier des Tropiques, we saw hearts drawn to express emotions, names and symbols to tell the story of a culture, bicycles and books laden with memories, and even words that pass on knowledge from one generation to the next.

Nous recherchons un·e chargé·e Shop dynamique et passionné·e afin d'assurer la gestion opérationnelle quotidienne de la boutique de Kanal.

Véritable ambassadeur·rice du musée, vous garantissez une expérience client de qualité tout en veillant au bon fonctionnement du point de vente, à la mise en valeur des collections et à l'atteinte des objectifs commerciaux. Vous participez activement au développement des ventes tout en assurant une gestion rigoureuse des stocks, de la caisse et des espaces de vente.

Als shop medewerker ben je verantwoordelijk voor het dagelijkse beheer van de Kanal-shop.

Als enthousiaste brand ambassador van het museum sta je borg voor een uitstekende klantervaring en zorg je ervoor dat de shop goed draait, dat de waren en collecties goed uit de verf komen en dat alle commerciële doelstellingen worden gehaald. Je waakt over de verkoop en omzet van de shop en beheert de voorraad, de kassa, de verkoopruimtes en -activiteiten.

ɴʟ | Maak kennis met Maartje Claes en Carla Robin, twee van de young curators achter IT NEVER SSST in het Belgische paviljoen in Venetië. Zij begeleiden het publiek doorheen het werk van Miet Warlop, bewaken de circulatie in de zaal en zorgen dat elk spoor van de performance zichtbaar blijft, ook als de performers er even niet zijn. In maart 2027 komt de performatieve tentoonstelling naar Kanal.

ᴇɴ | Meet Maartje Claes and Carla Robin, two of the young curators behind IT NEVER SSST at the Belgian Pavilion in Venice. Together they guide the public through Miet Warlop’s work, keep the room’s circulation running, and make sure every trace of the performance, even when the performers step away. The performative exhibition comes to Kanal in March 2027.

ꜰʀ | Rencontrez Maartje Claes et Carla Robin, deux des jeunes curateur·rices d’IT NEVER SSST au pavillon belge à Venise. Ensemble, elles guident le public à travers le travail de Miet Warlop, veillent à la circulation dans la salle et s’assurent que chaque trace de la performance reste visible, même en l’absence des performeur·euses. ɴʟ | Zwerfvuil op de kade lijkt onschuldig, maar één windvlaag volstaat om het richting kanaal, en later de zee te blazen.
strijdt hier al jaren tegen met kajak cleanups op het kanaal. De afvalplint is een nieuwe structurele oplossing die ze dit jaar uitrollen en Kanal doet dit jaar enthousiast mee.
Doel: tegen 2030 9,7 km afvalplint langs het kanaal, met een eerste kilometer al in 2026.
Vanaf €29 adopteer je zelf een plint, met je serie nummer erop, gelinkt aan jouw donatie.
Hou het kanaal proper: doe mee en draag jouw steentje bij. 🌊🐟 Link in de bio!

ꜰʀ | Les déchets sur le quai semblent inoffensifs, mais un simple coup de vent suffit à les faire tomber dans le canal, pour plus t**d rejoindre la mer.
lutte contre cette pollution depuis des années avec des sorties en kayak pour repêcher des déchets.
Cette année ils lancent une nouvelle solution structurelle: des plinthes à déchets. Kanal se joint à l’initiative avec enthousiasme.
L’objectif: 9,7 km de plinthes d’ici 2030, dont un premier kilomètre dès 2026.
Dès 29€, adoptez votre propre plinthe, avec un numéro de série lié à votre don.

ᴇɴ | Litter on the quay might look harmless, but one gust of wind is enough to blow it into the canal, and eventually the sea.
has been fighting this for years with kayak cleanups. Waste Bumpers is a new structural solution they deploy in 2026, Kanal is joining in with pleasure.
The goal: 9.7 km of Waste Bumpers along the canal by 2030, with the first kilometre already in 2026.

ɴʟ | Maak kennis met Micha Volders, muzikant en producer achter de klankwereld van IT NEVER SSST in het Belgische paviljoen in Venetië. Samen met Miet Warlop bouwt hij een sonisch universum van ritme, herhaling en rauwe textuur die de performance van zang, woorden, gips en lichamen samenhoudt. Geluid als een derde lichaam op de vloer. In maart 2027 komt de performatieve tentoonstelling naar Kanal.

ᴇɴ | Meet Micha Volders, musician and producer behind the sound world of IT NEVER SSST at the Belgian Pavilion in Venice. Together with Miet Warlop, he built a sonic universe of rhythm, repetition and raw texture holding together this performance of song, words, plaster and bodies. Sound as a third body on the floor. The performative exhibition comes to Kanal in March 2027.
