La peau de l'ours is a contemporary art gallery located in Brussels. The gallery represents emerging artists mainly from the French scene.

La peau de l'ours is a contemporary art gallery located in upper side of Brussels and founded by Thomas Ghaye in 2017. Thanks to a dynamic program, La peau de l’ours has regularly acted as a springboard for artists whose work is now known in the contemporary art world. After a little more than 3 years, gallery owner and collector Elie Schönfeld decided to join the adventure with the aim of developing La peau de l'ours by reinforcing its presence and its artists on the international scene.

7 yers after his first exhibition at the gallery, we are really happy to welcome Dorian Cohen for a second solo show « L’enfance des paysages »

A place of discovery and wonder, the landscape is, from childhood onwards, our first encounter with the world. From this sensory experience emerges a way of seeing that gradually shapes our perception of reality and forms an inner landscape.

Through this metaphor of landscape as a way of seeing, painter Dorian Cohen explores how this formative experience continues to inhabit and shape the way we conceive our contemporary gardens.

Through a series of ten recent paintings, the artist creates a poetic dialogue between portraits and gardens imbued with a rich symbolic imagination, unfolding as an allegory of childhood memories, sensations, and figures.

Last summer, in the gardens of the Villa Empain, Simone Machuel invited the members of the jury of her Master’s degree exhibition in ceramics at ENSAV La Cambre to a joyful garden party entitled Martini Hills.

With the same boldness and uninhibited whimsy that is already becoming her signature, Simone Machuel now presents Act II.

With this second opus, the artist once again invokes Blake Edwards and his colorful, tangy sense of humor.
