Every Saturday in June, the Melbourne Planetarium invites you on a presenter-led journey through the stars, exploring LGBTQIA+ stories hidden in constellations and across our solar system.
Ever q***ried what tales the night sky holds? Travel beyond Earth, uncover cosmic connections to q***r icons and history, and see the universe in a whole new light.

No two shows are the same, with each session shaped by the stars and planets visible on the night.

Don't miss out on first Discover the Night Sky of the season, tonight at the Planetarium.

In this exciting session, join astronomer Dr Tanya Hill as she recaps the success of April’s Artemis II mission, a 10 day mission when four amazing astronauts flew around the Moon.

Discover the highlights, including seeing a solar eclipse from lunar orbit. The aim of the Artemis program is to build a sustained human presence on the Moon. And it’s not just America that’s interested, we will chat about the lunar plans coming out of China, India and Japan as well. And Australia is part of it too as we work towards sending an Aussie rover, called Ro-over, to the Moon in 2030.

🔭Join us for the very first Discover the Night Sky of the season, Artemis Program: heading back to the Moon.

Explore with astronomer Dr Tanya Hill at the Melbourne Planetarium, as she takes you on an inspiring evening exploring the latest in space and astronomy. With stunning visuals and Tanya’s expert storytelling, you’ll discover what’s happening in our cosmos right now, and what it all means.

Arrive early and enjoy a drink from the galaxy bar from 6pm, then make the most of your night with optional telescope stargazing (weather permitting) from 7–8:30pm. You might spot the Moon, bright planets, star clusters or even distant nebulae.

An unforgettable night under the stars awaits.
