Today at Eskbank House Museum

An enthusiastic group gathered for the final Australian Heritage Festival event, an Art Workshop.

Artist & Storyteller Kim Bagot-Hillier led the group through the process of gathering botanical specimens as template for the designs carved into the lino tiles, inked and printed on paper.

Eskbank House Museum is open to the public Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm
Entry fee is $5.50 and $2.50 concession and pre-booked groups per person.

Busy day at Eskbank House Museum

This week artist, collector and storyteller Kim Bagot-Hillier, has been busy at the museum installing her exhibition of botanical prints, historic gardening catalogues, books, botanical cigarette cards and gardening history interpretations.

The exhibition is part of the National Trust Australian Heritage Festival 2026 18 April to 26 May 2026 during the museum open hours Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm

Other festival events include a history storytelling session on 23 April 2026 at 4.30pm and two printmaking workshops, 28 April and 5 May 10am to 3pm

New to the collection at Eskbank House Museum

Three oversize Lithgow Valley Colliery Company - Lithgow Pottery earthen ware pipes.

Lithgow Municipal Council 1898 horse trough. Reported to have originally been located in Main Street, Lithgow, moved to the Showground, then into storage and now on display at the museum.

Museum open hours Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm

Museum entry fees $5.50 and $2.50 concession and pre-booked groups per person

International Women's Day Exhibition: Give to Gain at Eskbank House Museum with Lithgow City Council and Visit Seven Valleys

Today marks the end of our IWD26 Art Exhibition with a special collection of objects related to our Marjorie Jackson, the Lithgow Flyer. - That is Marjorie Jackson-Nelson, née Marjorie Jackson, AC CVO MBE DStJ. The Marjorie Jackson collection will be on display until Sunday 12 April 2026

The objects including a recently donated scrapbook by devoted Marjorie Jackson fan June Robb, who collected all the newspaper clippings and followed her to Helsinki and filmed her races in 1952. Special thanks to her family who kindly donated this scrapbook to the museum.
