Mount Victoria Museum Local history museum, situated in the heart of Mount Victoria NSW heritage precinct. See our web site for opening hours and booking details.

Images and photos of museum objects may be used with acknowledgement to Victoria Museum The museum will be closed until late January 2022. However, we can do group bookings by appointment. Please email for details. Normal opening hours: Saturdays and Sundays from 12.00pm to 3.00pm or by appointment.

Saturday 6th June the PICNIC TRAIN is coming, "choose your destination: Katoomba—home to Scenic World & Railway, the steepest railway in ther world, sweeping lookouts, boutique shops and charming cafes—or Mount Victoria, known for its historic pubs, cozy cafes and village atmosphere. A perfect day trip for rail enthusiasts, photographers and anyone who loves classic travel and mountain scenery."

The museum will be open midday to 3pm both Saturday and Sunday for the King's Birthday Long Weekend.

Jeepers, with all our recent emails about our amazing NEW Newsletter and email address change techno talk, we forgot to wish you all seasonal greetings. Eek. Happy MMXXVI from the committee and members.

PS the scaffolding is off and we now have new slate and corrugated iron roof. Reopening on 10th January unless there is popular demand for 3rd January (phone, message, text, email or carrier pigeon).

A link to a fascinating review of "John Ewbank – The Climbs and Times of a Rock Climbing Legend"

Subtitled: Steep Dreams and Vertical Songs

An anthology about the legendary rock climber and singer/songwriter who pioneered Mount Piddington, Blue Mountains region and interstate climbs. Spoiler alert, he gave away semi-professional climbing to chase his music dreams in New York, USA although he continued climbing until his tragic death.

Published and co-authored/edited by local photographer Ian Brown (Windy Hill Press) and Bruce Cameron. With over 60 contributors, the 336 pages of full colour "Climbs and Times" will prove to be a valuable documentation of local recreational climbing history. Well done all involved in producing this book about an enigmatic and complex individual.
