Google reviews often comment on the quality of the visitor experience and our museum's volunteer guides. This was received at the weekend: "The State Mine Heritage Park has become the highlight of our weekend trip in Lithgow. Gary is one of the best guides we’ve ever met. He gave us a very detailed history of the old mine including stories of the people as well. Worth visiting and thank you to all of the volunteers who keep this place alive."

Today the museum had a very successful day. Our working bee cleared one of our oil store sites in preparation for installation of a fire-fighting water tank. While the working bee was underway we hosted a stall at the Volunteer Connect Day in Queen Elizabeth Park. We received new membership applications, sold books and promoted the museum. The networking between Lithgow’s volunteer groups was also wonderful.
