Always wanted to be able to draw but don’t know where to start?

Gabby’s Still Life Drawing class will get you started (or help you get back into it!).

No matter your skill (or perceived lack thereof) Gabby will guide you through a day of learning to ‘see’ & draw using still life as inspiration.

Gabby's classes have been really well received with the last one selling out. Gabby also combines art with mindfulness so you'll gain even more than you bargained for as she takes you through how to pay attention to not only what you see, but what you feel as well!

Helen Brauns is a Melbourne based artist whose work celebrates the vivid beauty of the Australian landscape. Her paintings often depict wildflowers, seascapes, and the distinctive Australian bush and animals, rendered in a vibrant, contemporary style. Working primarily in acrylics — and occasionally in watercolour — Helen transforms her subjects from life to canvas through expressive brushstrokes, layered glazes, and a bold use of colour and contrast that bring depth and energy to each composition. Her works radiate a sense of joy, using uplifting colour palettes and strong compositions to convey optimism and connection to the natural world.

She has some stunning original flowers in her collection, as well as some smaller Australian animals, and some limited edition prints (a run of 15 only).

Her larger flowers will set off any room they are hung in, perfect for the lounge, or dinning room.

These school holidays we welcome Shervin Ranjbar of Petite Dolls as she is running a special, one-off, family-friendly doll making class.

Suitable for ages 10+ this is a great activity to do with family, or to book in with some friends for 2 hours of creative and engaging fun.

Shervin will take you through the steps to create your own dolls, combining crafting skills and technique with fun and creativity.

A great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Combine it with lunch at the cafe across the road and a walk over the road & you have the perfect day in the Dandenong Ranges.

This class looks at the different approaches, provides practical ways to get start and includes time to start to plan and talk about the different ways you could begin, or develop, this process for yourself, or as a family.

Karly did her PhD research biography programs in palliative care, has worked in aged care, and has taught at nearly all levels of adult education. She is well versed in the many approaches that can be taken to life storytelling as autobiography or biography and is particularly interested in how we can do this creatively.

Cam Knuckey
Cam lives in Ferntree Gully at the bottom of the Dandenongs and mainly works in linocuts. He handmakes all aspects, handcutting the design into lino, printing it onto paper and hand colouring each dry print individually. He studied Graphic Design at Swinburne and Drawing and Printmaking at Prahan College and has gone on to create numerous illustrations for magazines, newspapers and books, with group and solo exhibitions along the way.

Enamoured by the organic curves and colours of blooms, leaves, stems and pods, Cam continues to draw inspiration from looking closely on walks and finding the art deco geometry in both exotic and indigenous flora. His favourite subjects are flowers, especially Australian Natives, gardens, old houses and landscapes drawn from the train. He continues to draw everyday.
