Visiting New York is always a treat for anyone who has an interest in art. My visit to galleries this trip has been a bit sparse because essentially I am here. To visit my brand new granddaughter Ellie 💖 What a joy!!

However, I have ventured out and enjoyed my visit to Eric Firestone Gallery situated in the Noho area in Manhattan. Many of the abstract paintings and sculptures in the current exhibition ’Couples’ suggested the bridging of spaces between personhood, the digital world and the cosmos. The exhibition exhibited the work by 26 artist partners, some associated with American Surrealism. Loved the works by Charles Houghton Howard (leading photo 1930).

Weatherwise, we picked the perfect day to visit Storm King Art Centre, a 500-acre outdoor museum/park located in New York’s Hudson Valley, where visitors experience large-scale sculpture said to be the largest collection of contemporary outdoor sculptures in the United States. What a magnificent collection that included some of my favourites – Henry Moore, Louise Bourgeois, Isamu Noguchi and Louise Nevelson.

The park is landscaped beautifully and although early in the season with most trees still leafless, monumental sculptures sit effortlessly within fields, hills and sky, inviting slow wandering, curiosity, and those lovely, unexpected moments of connection. Just loved it! Hope you enjoy some of the pics I took.

I haven’t been posting as much lately, but would like to thank those of you who continue to follow along through Insta stories, and visits and sales to our online website. We do have some wonderful works to view.
I am currently in the USA visiting my daughter and her husband and their brand-new baby Ellie. What a delight! She is so, so gorgeous and I am loving every moment of time with her. We divide our time between Brooklyn and upstate New York. Although it’s early spring, the days are still quite chilly and the day struggled to reach 8 degrees. We lit the fire!
Today I wandered around the old town of Kingston and discovered another wonderful gallery. Gallery curator Bjorn was engaging and most helpful suggesting we also visit the website North Front Gallery. I have posted some photographs of this extremely well-designed space encompassing paintings, ceramics and sculture - fabulous black and white theme throughout.
