✨New exhibition opens this weekend for Quandamooka Festival ✨

Nyunngeh Djarajem  (Threads from Country)

Nyunngeh Djarajem (Threads from Country) is QUAMPI’s special showcase for the 2026 Quandamooka Festival season featuring newly acquired works by Quandamooka artists Keiron ANDERSON and Yandalingu-Yarna ANDERSON, Dean Bingkin TYSON, plus significant loans from Milani Gallery, N. Smith Gallery, and Onespace Gallery, representing Quandamooka artists Megan COPE, Kyra MANCKTELOW, and Sonja and Elisa Jane CARMICHAEL.

Nyunngeh, traditionally understood as reeds – the natural fibres sourced on Country – serves as a powerful metaphor, representing the threads through which our culture, stories, and practices are connected.

Exhibition curator : Miya Quaill, Curator, QUAMPI Arts & Culture Centre

Exhibition dates: 12 September to mid-October 2026

Artwork: Kyra Mancktelow , Continuance, 2022, Courtesy of N. Smith Gallery
