Footy finals fever is certainly in the air but at C*C we're looking ahead to the Coochie Classic. ⛵ On Sunday 4 October we're full on racing over the bay to the northern side of Coochiemudlo Island and back. Join the thrills and fun at C*C for this mixed fleet passage event open to trailable catamarans, dinghies, windsurfers, wing foilers and surf skis.
Briefing (all divisions) at 9:30 am with signals starting at 10:30am (see the NoR and SIs for more info).
Standard race fees apply for C*C members. For others fees range from $15 for surf skis to $35 for 2-up boats. Get in quick as higher fees apply for last minute entries. Fees include prizes and a sausage sizzle after the adventure on the bay to wrap up this social day.

Great turnout for yesterday's Destination Sail over to Peel Island, with 16 boats making the trip to Horseshoe Bay.

The weather was spot on, even if the morning run had some light wind and a few tricky pockets of dead air. The beach BBQ was a good chance to catch up, and the afternoon run back to the club definitely delivered. The breeze filled in to around 11 knots—just enough for the cats to fly a hull on the way home.

Thanks to everyone who joined. Catch you out on the water for Coochie on Sunday 4 Oct!

🌤️ Destination Sail This Sunday 20/9!

We’ve got a beautiful day lined up for this weekend’s Destination Sail — light 6–10 knot northerly, an incoming tide, and a sunny 22°C forecast. Perfect conditions to head over to Peel Island for a relaxed day on the water.

The Weber’s coming across on the safety boat, so pack your good vibes and be ready for a proper island BBQ session.

⛵ **Departure:** Not before 10:00am

If you’re planning to come along, please let us know. It really helps us organise the boats, BBQ gear, and catering for the day.

Less than four weeks to go until the Coochie Classic! 🌊
We’re excited to welcome everyone to the Coochie Classic on Sunday, 4 October 2026 — now featuring surf ski paddlers 🛶 and wingfoilers alongside catamarans, dinghies, windsurfers and off‑the‑beach classes.
This is a passage race adventure — a run across the bay to the top mark off Coochie and back, giving paddlers and sailors a scenic, flatter‑water course before returning for the sausage sizzle and social gathering at the finish.
Sailors and paddlers are encouraged to bring a hand‑held VHF (Channel 11) but this is optional as our safety boats will be onsite to assist as always.

⛵ First Race of the Season – This Sunday! (13/9)
We’re kicking off the new season with racing around the cans for the Dr Foxton Memorial Series. It doesn’t matter what skill level you’re at — whether you’re racing for sheep stations or still finding your groove around the course, everyone is welcome.

🌴 Sunday 20/9 – First Destination Sail
Weather permitting, we’ll throw the BBQ on the safety boats and head over to one of the island beaches for a relaxed day on the bay.
If you’d like to put family or friends on a safety boat for the trip, please let us know so we can plan numbers, they will be roped into helping prep the boats ;) .

If you're planning on attending, let us know, it makes planning the days a little easier.

Working Bee this Saturday (29/8)!
We’ve got a busy season ahead and the club needs a bit of TLC. If you can spare even an hour, we’d love your help to get everything shipshape.

🕘 Saturday from 9AM (aiming to finish by 1PM)
🧤 Bring work gloves — and a weeder if you have one!

Jobs include:
• Clubhouse cleaning (floors, tables, chairs, kitchen, bathrooms)
• Mowing, whipper‑snipping, weeding, ramp tidy‑up
• Safety boat checks, buoy and tackle inspections

Every bit of help makes a huge difference, and it’s a great chance to catch up off the water.
If you can come, please let us know so we can plan the day.

Moreton Bay absolutely turned it on for us this weekend! ☀️⛵️ Just a perfect day for flying a hull and getting a little saltwater therapy. If you're ever around the club on a gorgeous Sunday like this, come say hi! We're always keen to talk boats, rigging, or just enjoy a drink by the water. 🍻
