Remember that the Bluestone Museum is closed while our hard working team of volunteers photograph, sort and catalogue the collection ready for the upcoming building works.
Keep an eye on both this page, our website, and the Merri Bek library page for details of up coming guest speaker presentations at the Coburg Library.

Looking for something to do tomorrow? Come and visit the Coburg Bluestone Cottage Museum and see what treasures we have unearthed!
The museum is a 5 minute walk from the Bell St/ Sydney Road corner - make the most of the free public transport, and nearly- free museum entry ( gold coin donation) . Open Friday 12 midday until 2pm.
Photo shows some treasures that have been found in the backyard of the cottage - members of the Smith family and their descendants lived in the cottage for over 100 years, from the 1860’s to the 1970’s; this looks like the remnants of a classic “ Willow pattern” dinner set , popular in Britain in the late 1800’s and throughout the 1900’s.

Phones have come a long way since then - we now all carry a mini computer in our pockets, which also makes phone calls and takes photos!
Come to the Museum this Friday and have a look at this classic black desk top telephone.
Museum open 12 midday until 2pm.
