In Focus celebrates the wealth of artists and art groups living and working on the Redlands Coast. In 2026, the In Focus theme is ‘Vantage Point’ which invites artists to present work which examines the concept of perspective – their position or point of view – literal or metaphorical.

📸🐟 What a reel-y great morning at FISHO! 🐟📸

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the FISHO Artist Talk with local artist Jack Rodgers. It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout, with an engaged audience sharing their own fishing tales, favourite local spots and memories inspired by the exhibition.

There's something special about exploring an exhibition with the artist who created it. Artist talks spark conversation, provide deeper insights, and create opportunities to connect through shared stories and experiences.

The abundance of fishing stories shared throughout the morning proved just how powerful art can be in bringing people together through shared experiences!

Missed the talk? FISHO remains on display at Redland Art Gallery until 17 November, and we encourage you to cast a line into Jack's world of local fishing culture, nostalgia and belonging.

✏️ Family Fun Day: Hooked on Drawing with Jack Rodgers 🎨

Looking for a fun, creative way to connect as a family? Join artist Jack Rodgers, the talent behind our very popular current exhibition, for a relaxed drop-in drawing experience at Redland Art Gallery.

Learn from and chat with Jack about his creative process while exploring expressive mark-making with a range of drawing materials. No artistic experience needed, this is all about having a go, getting creative and enjoying time together.

Drop in for 10 minutes or stay a little longer. Kids love it, families love it, and it's one of our most popular monthly events!

Step into FISHO, an exhibition by artist Jack Rodgers that celebrates fishing culture and the special connections we form with the places we know and love.

👑 REDLAND ART GALLERY CLOSED MON 5 OCTOBER 👑

The Redland Art Gallery will be closed for the King's Birthday Public Holiday on Monday, 5 October.

The Gallery will re-open on Tuesday, 6 October, at 9am.

👑 The King’s Birthday public holiday is just around the corner!
If you're enjoying the long weekend on Monday 5 October, keep in mind that some Council services and facilities will be closed for the day.

✅ Kerbside bin collections will continue as normal (please place bins out before 6am).
✅ The Animal Shelter - Redland City Council will remain open with reduced operating hours.
✅ Recycling and Waste Centres, and the Redlands Coast Visitor Information Centre will remain open as normal.

❌ Council offices, customer service centres, libraries, IndigiScapes Centre - Redland City Council, Redland Art Gallery - Redland City Council and Redland Performing Arts Centre will be closed.

PARENTS AND PRAMS | WED 7 OCTOBER

Don’t forget to book your tickets for this month’s Parents and Prams workshop “My Story Scrapbook” (the 9.30am session is nearly sold out), a playful, sensory art experience for little artists aged 0-5 and their caregivers, inspired by Visualising the Written Word by Redland Yurara Art Society Inc.

Children will receive their own scrapbook and explore how marks, lines, symbols, textures and patterns can communicate ideas and tell stories.

Using crayons, markers, stickers, stamps, washi tape and layering methods, they will experiment with creative self-expression while developing fine motor skills and confidence. Each page becomes a unique reflection of their imagination and a special keepsake to take home.

Drop in every Friday during October for Fish Tale Fridays at Redland Art Gallery, a free Seniors Month activity where you can enjoy a cuppa, share a fishing story or favourite local spot, contribute to our community Fish Tale Wall, and explore the gallery in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

On Wed 7 Oct, families with little ones can enjoy our popular Parents and Prams session, this month we will be making a 'My Story Scrapbook' where children aged 0-5 years and their caregivers will explore storytelling through play, creativity and hands-on making.
