NOW OPEN! | Exhibition | Visualising the Written Word by the artists of Redland Yurara Art Society Inc.

Our installation team was busy last week mounting the next exhibition at The Mezz, and it looks fantastic!

Visualising the Written Word is now open, and we've shared a few behind-the-scenes photos from the installation.

Be sure to drop in and explore the exhibition. While you're there, why not grab a coffee from Encore Coffee on your way in or out?

In Visualising the Written Word, the artists of Redland Yurara Art Society Inc. explore the interplay between the visual and the written. Seeking inspiration from a variety of written stimuli, including poetry, song lyrics, personal correspondence and prose, the artists offer fresh, creative responses to their chosen sources.

Bridie was a finalist in the 2024 Redland Art Awards and has said of the experience

⏰ Closing Soon | Last Day Tuesday 25 August

Don't miss your chance to experience two thought-provoking exhibitions before they close at Redland Art Gallery.

🐾 Drawing Animal brings together works from the Redland Art Gallery Collection that explore the complex ways animals are intertwined with human life. Through diverse contemporary artworks, the exhibition highlights environmental concerns while reflecting on the often-overlooked roles animals play in our economies, labour and daily existence.

🌏 Si Yi Shen uses digital collage and sculptural forms to explore identity, belonging and life between cultural worlds. Drawing on personal journeys, shifting views and notions of place, Shen deconstructs and reassembles fragments—images, text, emojis, audio, 3D scans and digital snippets—into layered works that blur the boundaries between reality and imagination.

🎨 While you're here, join our free Drop-In Art Activity: Co-Create an Evolving Garden. Inspired by Mountain No Mountain and Drawing Animal, visitors of all ages are invited to contribute a playful, abstract or exhibition-inspired creation to a collaborative garden wall that continues to grow and change with every contribution.

📅 Last day: Tuesday 25 August
