LEARN MORE | About the Exhibition⁠⁠
Veins of Air is a new body of work by glass artist Akie Haga. The installation explores how air, though unseen, can be perceived through subtle shifts in form and movement. ⁠⁠
Using experimental glass forms, including clear, coloured, solid and blown elements, the works delicately trace organic structures such as seeds, pods and organic growths. Together the installation creates a fleeting, transparent landscape that evokes the quiet currents of air. ⁠⁠

Hosted by Loz, an experienced life model and founder of Tipsy Sketching, you will be provided with some basic guidance, pencils and paper. ⁠⁠

The 2026 Daily Creative Challenge invites all creatives to make their mark on a city bidding for UNESCO Creative City of Design status, one day of making at a time. ⁠⁠
Craft + Design Canberra has launched a fundraising campaign to keep its annual Daily Creative Challenge free and accessible to all participants, as the 21-day program enters its fifth year.⁠⁠
The 2026 Craft + Design Canberra Daily Creative Challenge runs throughout July, inviting participants across Canberra and Australia to be creative every day and share the result on Instagram. ⁠⁠
The fundraising campaign Creative by Nature + Healthy by Design, positions the program as both a community wellbeing initiative, and a demonstration of Canberra's identity as a city of design, the most creative city in Australia. ⁠⁠

Create your own quirky finger puppet using wet felt-making techniques in this hands-on workshop led by artist and educator Lynn Petersen. Guided by a poetic prompt, you will explore colour, texture and form to shape a character that tells its own unique story. ⁠
Use flat resist felting to craft wonderfully unexpected shapes. A variety of fibres, fabrics and found objects will be available to help bring your puppet to life. ⁠

Edge of Presence is a sculptural body of work that employs glass to examine mortality, reflection, and the human condition. Developed during a residency at Canberra Glassworks and later expanded in the artist’s studio, the exhibition presents a series of sculptural glass pieces.
At its centre, Edge of Presence is about holding space for pause, transition, and stillness. The works invite quiet consideration of what shapes us, what we carry, and how we might meet life’s endings with reflection and, perhaps, gratitude.
