A Glassblower’s Review of Melbourne Design Week
While at Melbourne Design Week, Glassworks’ Jacqueline Knight attended as many shows as humanly possible within two days. Including April Phillips’ opening Cry with Me, where the final product was showcased in an “amazing and stunning display.” Then she spent some time with Alison Page, who many of you may know, we are developing a future commission with. These were the main highlights of her trip of course; however, she didn’t stop there.
She managed to catch several Glassworks’ friends and exhibiting artist alumni. Whether at openings or finding their works scattered across town, including Tom Fereday, Jordan Benson and Bronte Cormican-Jones. Then, the fabulous works that were by Madi Cardon, Martin Thompson, and Billy Crellin.
With a break from the making and a couple of days full of design, Jacqueline got to focus on the outcomes of our work here at the Glassworks. All while being able to immerse herself in the kind of relationships and conversations that are incredibly valuable to the long-term growth of our programs and partnerships.
Now, if you’re still crying over missing this year’s Melbourne Design Week, make sure to reach out to Phillips
