✨ LOTS OF NEW WORKS HAVE ARRIVED AT Q GALLERY ✨

We’re excited to have a beautiful new selection of works by the enormously popular Jeannie Mills Pwerle now available.

Jeannie’s distinctive paintings celebrate Anaty (Bush Yam), with layers of colour, movement and intricate patterning that have made her work so sought after by collectors.

We’ve also got lots of works in our stockroom by others artists including Justin Lees, Kelly Casey, Jenny Gibson and many more.

Join us at Q Gallery for the launch of A Tree Lover’s Guide to Australia by award-winning author Inga Simpson, accompanied by a special exhibition of her beautiful photography.

Inga will be joining us for the evening, with copies of the book and all photographic works available for purchase.

A Feeling for Trees – Inga Simpson

Growing up on a farm in central west NSW, Inga Simpson developed an early connection to trees and the natural world, first photographing them with her father’s manual Canon camera as a child.

Best known as the acclaimed author of Mr Wigg, Where the Trees Were, Nest, Understory, Willowman and Once We Were Wildlife, Inga has long maintained photography as a parallel creative practice.

For A Tree Lover’s Guide to Australia, Inga travelled across the country for eighteen months, bringing together her nature writing and photography to capture some of Australia’s most beautiful and remarkable trees.

HILARY WARREN | KIMBERLEY
9–22 October 2026

Inspired by a journey along the Kimberley coast from Broome to Darwin, Kimberley captures Hilary Warren’s observations of one of Australia’s most ancient and extraordinary landscapes.

From the towering sandstone cliffs of the King George River, glowing in the early morning light, to the textures of Jar Island and the brilliant Kimberley sunsets, Hilary translates her own photographs into beautifully detailed photogravure intaglio prints.

Created using etched photopolymer plates, UV light, oil-based inks and traditional printmaking techniques, each work brings together Hilary’s eye for landscape with the technical precision developed over four decades as a biomedical research scientist.

Three works from the exhibition have already been selected as finalists in major national art prizes, including The Alice Prize, Fisher’s Ghost Art Award and the Pro Hart Outback Art Prize.

We’re delighted to welcome Hilary Warren and Kimberley to Q Gallery.

Chroma

Julie Bradley works on paper and Susan Buret ceramics.
In this exhibition two artists respond to each other’s work. They share their influences - which are uncannily similar and take this information back into the studio to be absorbed and transformed into new work.

The strong forms of the ceramics Susan Buret creates, inform the shapes and compositions of Julie Bradley’s works on paper. Likewise the line and textures of the gouache on Julie’s work are used as references for Susan’s vessels. But paramount to the connection is always the shared love of colour.

Chance can be a muse and both artists react to their work as it makes it way into being created. Process and materials lead their making.

This exhibition focuses on the ever-present influence of colour on our mood, perception, sense of self and understanding of the world.

The exhibition runs from the 25th September to 8th October and the opening event will be held at 6 pm on the 25th of September.

CHROMA | JULIE BRADLEY & SUSAN BURET

We’re delighted to be welcoming Julie Bradley and Susan Buret to Q Gallery with their beautiful exhibition, CHROMA. Opening Friday 09 September 6 pm.

Bringing together two wonderfully accomplished artists, CHROMA is a celebration of colour, connection, place and creativity.

Julie’s beautiful gouache paintings, collage and drawings explore emotional landscapes and our connection to place, while Susan’s practice spans ceramics, painting, textiles and installation, bringing together colour, form and a deep sense of her surroundings.

Both Julie and Susan have exhibited extensively in Australia and overseas, with their work held in significant public and private collections.

We’re so pleased to have their work on our walls and to share CHROMA with you.

🎈 Q GALLERY TURNS TWO! 🎈

Two and a bit years ago, Q Gallery was just a vision I had in the middle of Central Australia — an idea about creating a small gallery built around art, community, connection, culture and creativity.

To see that vision become a reality — and to see what Q Gallery has grown into in just two years — makes me incredibly happy and proud.

We’ve welcomed established artists, emerging artists, collectors, first-time buyers, kids discovering art, locals dropping in for a look, and so many people who simply love being around creativity.

And we’re only getting started.

There are more exhibitions, more artists, more events, more entertainment and some very exciting new projects to come!

A huge thank you to every artist who has trusted Q Gallery with their work, everyone who has exhibited, taught, performed, helped, bought an artwork, attended an opening, shared a post, told a friend or simply walked through our doors.

And especially to the wonderful people who have worked alongside me and helped turn that idea into something real. Special shoutout to Charlotte Kynaston who’s been with Q from the very beginning!!

A BIG THANK YOU 🌸

A huge thank you to every artist who was part of our LES FLEURS exhibition at Q Gallery. It was such a beautiful show, and I loved seeing the many different interpretations of all things floral.

As curator, the artwork I chose as the Curator’s Choice was Mary Strachan’s Flowers at Night.

This small but beautifully painted work, just 19cm x 15cm, has such a wistful and romantic feel. It’s a simple work, yet it evokes so much. I could have sold this little painting ten times over! It is humble, yet stands grounded on the canvas. Congratulations, Mary. 🌸

Belinda Barancewicz won the People’s Choice Award with her pen and ink drawing, Catafalque Party.

This is a striking artwork that really shows off Belinda’s drawing skills. There is great balance in the work, leaving enough blank space for the beautiful native flora to pop. A very well-deserved People’s Choice winner.

Congratulations to you both, and a huge thank you to every artist who contributed to LES FLEURS. It was an absolute joy to have your work on the walls of Q Gallery. 🌷🌺🌸
