Parents are worried about school kids on e-bikes and e-scooters, citing their lack of road-rule knowledge and speed as inherent dangers.

Our new exhibition - ΝΟΣΤΟΙ | Homecomings: Stories of the Ionian Island Diaspora in Queensland - is now open!

ΝΟΣΤΟΙ explores the way that storytelling, history, myth, memory and experience of the Ionian Islands off the western coast of Greece (Kerkyra, Paxi, Lefkada, Ithaki, Kefalonia, Zakynthos and Kythera) fuels the imagination and identity of the diaspora in Queensland.

The exhibition is the result of a three-year collaboration between the Antiquities Museum, the Ithacan Society Queensland and The Kytherian Association of Queensland. It combines artefacts, documents, garments and photographs from public and private collections with newly recorded oral histories to create a rich tapestry of how the islands are remembered, experienced and passed on to future generations.

The Antiquities Museum will be closed from 20 October to 19 November for exhibition change over. We apologise for any inconvenience.

It's UQ Giving Day! The Antiquities Museum community has a long history of philanthropic giving: in the past these gifts supported purchses for the Museum collection, and today, our generous donors are supporting a range of initiatives that give UQ students the opporunity to gain hands-on skills in the GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) sector while completing their studies.

With the recently launch of UQ Arts, this Giving Day we're promoting donations to the UQ Arts fund that supports art, music, performance, writing, history and culture across UQ's campuses. Giving Day is about participation. Every gift, big or small, has a huge impact and the UQ Arts Fund is benefiting from matched giving this year for gifts up to $20,000. Please consider joining us in making a gift of any size to support the important work of this program.

UQ Arts is the creative heart of UQ – where art, music, performance, writing, history and culture come together to spark new ideas and inspire change. Gifts to the UQ Arts Fund will be directed to exhibitions, performances, public programs and cultural learning opportunities, connecting people and...
