Gallipoli 9th Battalion First Ashore

Gallipoli 9th Battalion First Ashore 9th Battalion ANZAC Centenary exhibition August 2015 to November 2016. The ANZAC Centenary (www.anzaccentenary.gov.au) was commemorated from 2014 to 2018.

At ANZAC Cove, Gallipoli, Turkey, on 25 April 1915, soldiers from the Australian 9th Battalion AIF (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9th_Battalion,_Royal_Queensland_Regiment & www.awm.gov.au/units/unit_11196.asp) were first ashore. From 2015 to 2016, a 9th Battalion ANZAC Centenary museum exhibition was displayed in the Milne Bay Memorial Library and Research Centre (www.milnebaybattlecentre.org)

, at the Chermside Historical Precinct. The building is the former Sandgate Drill Hall, which was built in 1915. The exhibition was proudly supported by the Queensland Government and the Australian Government. The Library and Research Centre is a Ninth Battalions Association Inc (www.9bnassoc.org) facility.
