UTOPIA by JP Willis · Contemporary Artist

Utopia has always been the promise of a perfect place, where we might one day live happily. In this series, JP Willis turns that dream on its head. Every image is a panoramic, Arcadian scene, but tucked quietly into the landscape is a fighter jet, bomber or drone, slightly out of focus, as if snapped from a hiding place.

Beauty and deadliness have driven JP’s work for over a decade. Is this a utopian Neverland, or something ominous?

This piece has just sold to a very happy customer in Hamilton, Brisbane. 🖤

Limited edition of seven, each one signed. Available as a print or framed.

Meet JP Willis · Contemporary Artist ⭐️

Lolly-bright colours — red, yellow, green — arranged into mandalas that look sweet until you notice they’re built from machetes, AK-47s and MIG jets. Sacred geometry, armed to the teeth.

His Looking for Love series keeps the bite: delicate glass prints titled French Kisses and Bedtime Kiss, showing fighter jets bombing cityscapes under a clear blue sky. Death, dressed as romance.

Birth. Life. Death. Beautiful and unsettling in equal measure — coming soon to Well Hung Gallery.

Oh yeah and he’s known to catch a wave or two in Crescent Head NSW 🏆
