This weeks track was started during COVID and has been an ongoing project ever since.
The track is Scalextric 2.3 m x 4 m.
We were shocked when Neil from Victoria told us:
Unfortunately I’m going to have to sell as I need the garage space for storage as we are traveling Australia for 12 months in our caravan.
If any of your readers are interested in an ongoing project I’m happy to sell everything together far cheaper than I paid for it.

If anyone requires more info please email us directly and we will forward your email to Neil. Please know Armchair Racer will have no involvement with the sale.

This track grabbed our attention as it is named Rattlesnake Raceway.
Unlike Australia, Rattlesnakes are found in Canada, where this track is located.
However, Australia has more venomous than any other country in the world. And Armchair Racer can always come to the rescue having a snake catcher in our team.

Well at least that gives us time to do some things with long exposure photography.

It's been an interesting week as we have received an unusually high level of correspondence regarding empty display cases.

Those who buy their models to be "shelf queens" usually want their models in similar display cases.
Those who purchase Revo models know they are supplied in cardboard boxes. One of our customers showed us how he converted a donor Scalextric display case with the sticker that Revo supplies in their box. We think he has done a great job.

Many of you want Scalextric display cases but unfortunately they are not sold as a spare part.
On the other hand Slot.it and NSR do. However, many of you are not fans of the new larger cases supplied by NSR. We have tried to source the previous smaller version, but these are no longer available.

This week we are showing you an impressive track - and one that you could also purchase!
We hand it over to Simon in Newcastle NSW:

The track is BLST (best lane slot track), routered wood track (mdf) imported from Sillage Racing (David Caille) from France around 2015. The track runs the Slot It digital oXigen system.
This is the only BLST track in Australia that I’m aware of.

The track measures 4.0m long x 1.8 wide at its widest point and is landscaped to a high quality and includes track lighting. The track is situated on a rolling framework (with locking wheels) which is also part of the sale so the track can be pushed against a wall when not in use.
One of the flippers to the last pit lane isn’t working so would require a replacement flipper from Sillage Racing.

Selling track complete with
• 4 Slot It controllers (2 x SCP-2 currently active) plus two (2) x SCP-3 controllers which are new and never used and include battery cartridges so controllers can be untethered. (Value approximately $750)
• 12 Slot It Digital chips – 0201C1 Universal in car controller Type C (value $660)
• 4 Slot It Digital chips – 0201B2 In car controller Type B (value $220)
• numerous digitally chipped cars some with the Slot It lighting kit. The cars are a combination of Slot it, NSR & Revo Slot.
• Ferrari poster in frame as shown.
Any prospective purchaser is more than welcome to try the track. It would be desirable for the purchaser to assist disassembly to make reassembly easier.

The track was originally purchased for about 4,000 Euro ($6,500 AUD approx.). Asking AUS $3,000 ONO. This track is a bargain of the century!
I am out of the hobby and downsizing to smaller premises so the track must go.

If you are interested please get in touch with us for Simon's details.

We should have celebrated our 31st birthday last week - but forgot about it. So what to show you this week as we are now feeling a little nostalgic?

Our weekly Show and Tell segment only commenced in 2019 and then thought what did we post 10 years ago - as Facebook didn't exist in the 90's? We were surprised to see we posted some interesting images from customer 297.

You may have seen his image's in a slot car book or two as his photo's are very impressive.

He showed us his "wet look track" and his "rolling track" and the quality of the photo's produced,

For the wet look he painted board with the Woodlands Scenics Water Effects applied.
