Armchair Racer We specialise in 1:32 scale model slot cars but also support 1:24 scale and 1:43 scale.

Since its beginnings in 1995, Armchair Racer has grown and now offers a full range of services to the slot car community including:

We relocated to 7/19 Hotham Pde (across the road from our old sit

e) during mid 2018. Our showroom is smaller than our previous showrooms and only a small quantity of our extensive range is on display, however, our range has and continues to increase and we are happy to show you any items you are interested in when visiting us.

In our excitement that the Socceroos made it into the World Cup knock out round, we had a competition in last weeks newsletter to receive 20% off (almost) any item from our range by simply sending us an image of the Socceroos and a slot car related theme.

Whilst we thought we would receive a lot of entries we only received two - but they are good ones.

Attached is an image I created of Nestory Irankund, riding in a Scalextric Toyota Supra, C4591.
Nestory Irankunda was the first Australian to score in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He opened the scoring for the Socceroos in the 27th minute of their 2-0 opening group stage victory against Turkiye on June 13, 2026.

Blair from Qld pulled out his Socceroos jersey - which year was that one Blair and did you go? - plus his Scalextric C2743 A1 Grand Prix - Team Australia slot car.

Well done gentlemen!! And we guess we will all wake early to watch the Socceroos tomorrow morning.

We hope you don't mind but this weeks Show and Tell is an interesting situation that happened at Armchair Racer yesterday.

A long term and regular customer was in the store collecting his order. He looked into Peter's office and asked about the white Ferrari. The photo you see is from the shop side of the counter. The car is 3-4 metres away. The white car was sitting behind the red and yellow model.

What is in the blood of car enthusiasts that you can such intricate detail on a model to know exactly what it is?

The models were the next in line to be added to the display cars we have been adding each week, which we must say has had very strong interest. We are currently using a ballot system due to the strong interest.
If you can suggest of another fairer way to sell these off we are happy to receive suggestions.
