The light is back. Eight nights only.

Selected works from LUMENOCITY, brought to Norval Foundation in Tokai. Light works by South African artists, laid out as an outdoor route you walk at your own pace.

Not the whole show, and nothing made new for it. The same works, seen now against trees and open sky.

Walked it in April? See it in a beautiful new setting. Missed it? This is your night.

20 to 29 November 2026
Fri 20, Sat 21, Sun 22, then Wed 25 to Sun 29
5pm to 10:30pm, last entry 10pm

ARKHEION: The Quiet Engine is an interactive installation composed of suspended layers of
mesh with shifting densities of translucency, animated through projection, controlled light,
and responsive behavior. Treating shadow as material and light as language, the work
creates a permeable spatial threshold that changes with presence, movement, and stillness.
Rooted in restraint rather than spectacle, it draws on the warmth of analog atmosphere and
the precision of digital control to produce an encounter that feels intimate, architectural, and
quietly alive.

This morning, I watched my two youngest boys head off to work. You read that right😊. I’m home relaxing and my young ‘uns are out slogging.

They’re working on an installation for their oldest brother’s company (Pixel Nation Inc) and it’s all part of LUMENOCITY, an experience transforming Cape Town’s historic Company’s Garden into a living canvas of light, creativity and imagination.

How’d this happen? Weren’t they just fighting over the TV remote 5 minutes ago? Now they’re out there building magic🤩🪄

I couldn’t be more proud of how hardworking all my boys are. And how they’re always up for a new challenge.

See you Thursday night at Company’s Garden 👊 —I’ll be the one smiling like the proudest dad ❤️
