Christopher Moller Gallery was formed in 2007. The gallery deals in contemporary art, specialising in art from around the globe. Our goal is to build relationships between our artists and clients. Our building is located on a heritage site, in the heart of the Cape Town city bowl. The gallery hosts regular exhibitions and participates in both local and international art fairs. Join us this Saturday!

We open 'Joy Comes in the Morning' this Saturday 17 October, with a morning of art, conversation and celebration featuring Prof. Ablade Glover, Daniel Nartey, James Mishio, Michael Gah and Emmanuel Kwaku Yaro.

Opening program:
🕗 10 - 11 AM: Welcome and exhibition viewing. Coffee and light refreshments.
🕘 11 - 11:45 AM: 'Why Joy Matters Now'. Michael Gah in conversation with Christopher Moller. Exploring how we nurture joy, compassion and connection in the world we live in today.
🕤 11:45 - 12 noon: Audience questions.
🕙 12 noon - 1 PM: Exhibition viewing continues.

Meet Prof. Ablade Glover, one of the five artists participating in 'Joy Comes in the Morning', opening 17 October.

Working in paint, Glover's finesse with impasto technique creates a tactility that echoes the woven textiles and fibers found throughout the exhibition.

The Season Turns

Chelsea Young's paintings are attentive to moments of transition. Seasons shift, light changes and familiar landscapes take on new forms of colour, movement and atmosphere respond to the natural world.

Her works linger between the space between one state and another, between darkness and light, movement and stillness. Rather than fixing a moment in place, Young invites us to notice the quiet rhythms of a world continually changing around us.

Nothing is Quite What it Seems.

Figures appear familiar, yet their relationships remain unresolved. Chris Denovan constructs scenes from fragments, gestures and encounters that resist a single reading.

Meaning emerges somewhere between what is shown and what is left unsaid, leaving the viewer to complete the scene.

Chelsea Young’s works explores a pondering of the subjective and objective landscape.

Her works explores the momentum of seasonal shifts, similarly how in nature seasons change from summer to autumn to winter… and then spring.

Young explores the in-between, the transitional space between those seasons.

Her artworks are now showing in ‘Control +Z’, a group exhibition, until 16 September.
