South African Jewish Museum The museum tells the story of South Africa's Jewish community from its 19th-century roots until now. An exclusive documentary film โ€“ "Nelson Mandela.

The museum narrates the story of South African Jewry from its early beginnings, set against the backdrop of South African history over a period of more than 150 years. We cover a number of areas of interest, including South African history, mining, commerce, Eastern European history, contemporary South African politics as well as an overview of the Jewish communityโ€™s contribution in all its aspects of South African history and conscience. A Righteous Man", is screened throughout the day, a documentary, which has won wide acclaim at the Brighton, Vancouver and Toronto Film Festivals.

Last night we celebrated the opening of the Herzlia Matric Visual Arts Exhibition! ๐ŸŽจโœจ

The Grade 12 artists filled the space with bold ideas and a year's worth of hard work, and it was wonderful to see so many family, friends, and teachers come out to support them. A huge congratulations to every student on such a powerful body of work.

The exhibition runs until 6 November 2026, so don't miss the chance to see it in person.

Handcrafted in Jerusalem by artist Mario Pomerantz, these mezuzah cases are carved from Dead Sea stone. Each one carries its own line of colourful inlays, from soft sea-green and blush pink to deep blue and rainbow brights.
