National Library of Vanuatu Advances Digital Transformation

The National Library of Vanuatu is taking an important step toward modernising its services through KOHA, an open-source library management system used worldwide.

The system will help the library better manage its books, catalogues, members, collections and information, while making resources more accessible to students, researchers and the public.

The initiative marks an important step toward the digital transformation and modernisation of library services in Vanuatu.

๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿ  MINI SLOW FOOD FESTIVAL โ€” MONTMARTRE SCHOOL ๐Ÿ ๐ŸŒบ

This week, Montmartre School will host a special Mini Slow Food Festival, where students will showcase and share traditional food preparation, the stories behind our food, as well as traditional dances and songs.

Food is more than what we eat โ€” it is part of who we are.

Through this festival, students will learn and demonstrate how traditional foods are prepared, where they come from, and the cultural knowledge connected to them. They will also share the stories, songs and dances that have been passed down through generations.

Passing this knowledge to our younger generation is very important. It helps us preserve our ways of life, strengthen cultural identity, protect traditional knowledge, and promote food security for future generations.

The festival is also an opportunity for students to learn that our traditional foods, local crops and traditional farming practices can continue to play an important role in building healthy and resilient communities.
