40 days. Countless moments. One global canvas.

From the art on the walls to the conversations, creativity, culture, movement, and community that filled the space—Global Canvas Initiative became more than an exhibition. It became a living celebration of what happens when people come together.

Today marks the final day of GCI, but the stories, connections, and impact created here will continue far beyond these walls.

Thank you to every artist, speaker, partner, family, visitor, and creative spirit who helped bring this vision to life.

This was Global Canvas Initiative: 40 days of art, sport, culture, and connection.

40 Days. 6 Pillars. One Global Conversation.

The Global Canvas Initiative just wrapped an incredible 40-day celebration of art, sport, and culture at American Dream Mall during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Powered by Six Pillars: Artist Market, Public Art Sculptures, Bridge Visionaries Series, Kids Craft Corner, Canvas Cup, and the Bridge Art Gallery Pop-Up.

A Few Highlights:

12 public art sculptures turned mall corridors into cultural wayfinders and conversation starters.

A Kids Craft Corner, every Sunday, no cost and no barriers to creativity for kids ages 4–14.

Our Bridge Visionaries Discussion Series brought global leaders together for three sessions:

July 9 — Harnessing Sports to Achieve the SDGs: From the Pitch to the Planet, with Ndeye Diarra (Giants of Africa), Fatima Azhar (Centre for Sports + Human Rights), a panel discussion featuring Liz Agbor-Tabi Oton (Global Citizen) and Kate Masuch (Novo Nordisk), Moderated by Caralene Robinson

July 14 — It's In Our Hands: Youth Voices Shaping Our Future, co-presented with the Nelson Mandela Foundation featuring keynote from Mbongiseni Buthelezi (Nelson Mandela Foundation) and youth voices that included Boubacar Balde (TAG-Teaching a Generation), Danielle Braithwaite (Kean University), Hweesang (Eli) Cho (Chance Makers), Desire Dufe (TAG-Teaching a Generation), Isaiah Fraser (YGB - Bayonne), Carter Lunsford (YES-Youth Environmental Summit), Neptune Mahoney New Jersey Equity Council), Subiksha Srinivasan Vidya (YES-Youth Environmental Summit), Sia Sung (Chance Makers) and Moderator Fatima Azhar (Centre for Sports +Human Rights)

July 16 — The Garden State Creates: Building New Jersey's Creative Economy featuring NJ Arts Leadership from the Institute of Jazz Studies at Rutgers University, Grammy Award Winner Stefon Harris, Bryant Small, Lenora Houseworth, New Jersey Symphony's Terry D. Loftis, Nimbus Dance Founder Samuel Pott and ArtPride New Jersey Foundation CEO Adam Perle. The New Jersey Symphony Chamber Players provided a beautiful post conversation performance.

Art is the perfect conduit for cross-cultural exchange. Art is a shared language that opens the door to our world's most complex conversations on climate, equity, identity and belonging.

And our young people weren't just in the room. They were true advisors who provided their insight and direction to help shape this initiative, because they deserve a say in the future they'll inherit.

We are grateful to all 26 participating visual artists, our roster of incredible speakers, partners, and family who made this real.

New Jersey’s creative economy is already in motion—and this conversation showed exactly what becomes possible when artists, cultural leaders and institutions build together.

The Garden State Creates brought together Stefon Harris, Terry D. Loftis, Sam Pott, Bryant Small and Wayne Winborne, moderated by Adam Perle, for a powerful conversation on creativity, collaboration and the future of arts and culture across the state.

Thank you to our speakers and everyone who joined us at American Dream for another inspiring Bridge Visionaries gathering. The future is being created right here in the Garden State.

It’s in our hands.

Yesterday’s Bridge Visionaries conversation, “It’s In Our Hands: Youth Voices Shaping Our Future,” reminded us that the future is not something we wait for — it’s something we shape together.

In partnership with the Nelson Mandela Foundation this event centered on youth voices, civic leadership, storytelling, creativity, and collective responsibility.

A huge thank you to our keynote speaker, moderator, panelists, partners, and everyone who joined us at American Dream Mall for such a powerful conversation.

Your voices, vision, and courage made this moment meaningful.

More dialogue. More action. More hands shaping what comes next.
