Meet the artists behind our Founders’ Day Festival mural! 🎨

We’re excited to welcome Jose R. Mendez and Mary Glazier, two talented local artists bringing their creativity, culture, and community spirit to our 65th anniversary celebration!

Jose R. Mendez is a self-taught artist, educator, curator, muralist, and community cultural leader. As co-founder of Día de Mu***os Lake Worth Beach and Taco Fiesta, Jose creates cultural experiences that connect art, heritage, education, and community.

Mary Glazier is a West Palm Beach-based collage and placemaking artist who transforms overlooked spaces, archival photos, and reclaimed materials into playful, meaningful works of art. She is also the founder of Gurferlady, a women’s surf community that combines creativity, connection, and Florida’s coastal culture.

Now, they’re bringing their unique artistic styles to the Cox Science Center & Aquarium for Founders’ Day! We can’t wait to see what they create.

Our Founders' Day Week is sponsored by Palm Beach County, Tourist Development Council, and Cultural Council for Palm Beach County.

Think you know your pets? Think again! 🐾

Get ready to uncover the secrets of your favorite furry companions in Cats & Dogs, an interactive exhibition that explores the surprising science behind the pets we love most. From tiny Chihuahuas to towering Great Danes and fluffy Persians to hairless Sphynx, you'll discover just how incredible, and mysterious, our four-legged friends really are.

Plus we’re extending our $2 off admission while we expand the Science Center — it’s a limited-time offer as we build what’s next.

Cats & Dogs is now open at the Cox Science Center & Aquarium!
