The National Vietnam War Museum was founded to become the national venue providing an atmosphere of learning about the Vietnam War era for people of all ages, nationalities and political points of view. The museum will tell the unbiased story of the more than 5 million servicemen and servicewomen who served in Vietnam, the civilian contractors who supported their efforts, the Vietnamese people, their culture and history, and those on the home front, both supporters and protesters of the war.

🎥 Drum roll, please! Our Volunteer Spotlight is here! 📸

Meet Dylan T. A medically retired veteran who has been volunteering with us since 2018. After spotting our Huey from the highway, Dylan knew he had found a new way to continue serving others. Whether he’s cleaning up storm debris or chatting with visitors on a quiet afternoon, he is completely dedicated to the mission. For Dylan, the most powerful part of the museum isn't just the incredible artifacts—it's the people. He is deeply moved by the resilience of our Vietnam veterans who faced unimaginable horrors, the draft, and a harsh homecoming, yet managed to quietly carry on with an intact love for their country. "In today’s world, we’ve forgotten the ability to stop and listen," Dylan shares. "When you take a moment to immerse yourself in their stories and empathize, you gain a certain understanding. History comes alive through these guys."

Closure Alert:

We will be closed Thursday, 8/27/26. While the museum has not been affected by the Ross wildfire, we are closing out of precaution and for the safety of our staff and volunteers. We expect to reopen on Friday, 8/28. Please be aware that smoke from the wildfire is present in our area, and those with sensitivities to smoke or those with respiratory issues should take necessary precautions if they choose to visit soon.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
