A fundraising project to build a historical walking tour around the Baker hotel, covering old plywood and broken windows with informative signs about the hotel and city's rich history. Leadership Mineral Wells is a program through the Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitor’s Bureau, which encourages personal and civic leadership and development in a variety of areas--from elected office
to the social services sector and business community. Through a series of self-facilitated programs, Leadership Mineral Wells participants receive a thorough overview of local government, human needs, education, and business as it pertains to Mineral Wells and Palo Pinto County. Participants typically travel throughout the county and city during the course each class day, meeting with business owners, governmental officials, and agency executives. Leadership Class 23 has chosen to partner with the Chamber of Commerce board and implement the Baker Hotel Historical Walking Tour.
-What is the “Baker Hotel Historical Walking Tour”? This is a project to replace the plywood and old broken windows along the street level of the Baker Hotel block with new durable and informative signs about the rich history of the Baker hotel and the city of Mineral Wells. These signs will lead visitors through a walking tour around the hotel and provide information on the hotel and city that visitors and local residents would be interested in learning.
-What can I do? We need individuals and businesses to help us raise funds for the project with donations of ANY size. Businesses and individuals can sponsor a sign with a donation that meets our Gold, Silver, or Bronze level donations.
-What do I get? Gold($1000), Silver($500), and Bronze($250) level sponsor’s names will be included on a recognition sign located within the walking tour, reminding all visitors whose generosity made this project possible. Donations can be mailed to:
