Museum Explorers is back and we're ready to spend some time delving into the amazing exhibit "Tools of the Trade: Building the West By Hand." This month, we're doing a deep dive into THE COBBLER. Join us on Friday, August 28th, at 10:30am for a look at the exhibit, a lesson and a project that will help your student get some hands-on experience as a shoe designer!

Museum Explorers is a free, monthly learning program designed to take a closer look at features of the museum and aid your student in making connections to the past.

Big thanks to Experience Weatherford for spotlighting our piece of Broadway and Hollywood history! 🎭✹

Preserving this rare chapter of American entertainment history is a true privilege for Parker County. From Mary Martin's legendary turn as Broadway’s original Peter Pan to Larry Hagman’s iconic role as J.R. Ewing in Dallas, their extraordinary stories have deep roots right here at home in Weatherford, Texas.

📍 Planning your trip to Weatherford? Beat the Texas heat and spend an afternoon exploring the lives, artifacts, and personal history of two of our favorite stars.

Step inside, enjoy the air conditioning, and let us share the stories behind the legends!

đŸŒ” Homeschool Day: Texas Tall Tales đŸŒ”

Step into the larger-than-life world of Texas folklore! During this hands-on homeschool program, students will explore legendary Texas stories and characters, including Pecos Bill, the Chupacabra and more.

Students will discover what makes a tall tale different from an ordinary story before putting their creativity to work in a Writer’s Workshop, where they’ll invent and write their own Texas tall tale. The day will also include a Texas-inspired art activity that allows students to bring a little raw Texas beauty home with them.

It will be a fun day of Texas history, storytelling and hands-on learning!

Registration for Doss Partners opens this morning at 10am, and registration for the general public opens Wednesday, September 2nd at 10am.
