My name is Max Frayser. I am a lifelong Fire and EMS, Volunteer, and career retired public servant.

My interest started early in Rescue work and led to Civil Defense later in life. I enjoy preserving the history and artifacts of the US Civil Defense.

Well, Been a Long week, Lots of work, but with the exception of 8 large wooden crates not opened yet of a MD Casualty Care Center Cache, all of my collection is now in one spot for the first time. Now I will continue the check in and assure my Database is up to date, everything is numbered and stored.

So got a little more work done today, Blinds up , cleaned, started locating areas and sat up a temporary desk and work table until the actual ones arrive. Next will be the storage space being emptied......

Well, Finally Im ready to start moving my collection. Today my Awesome wife and I finished the molding, and clear coated the walls. Monday I will start moving the Tools and ladders out, install the shades and start moving the Bookshelves, display cases and the collection in. Small amounts at first to assure the items are in the database and separate the one that are not. Each item will be Identified, given a number, and the storage location documented. Until my antique desk gets here, I will use a table for my computer and then go from there.

OK guys I know it’s slow but we made great progress today. I had a carpenter come in and together we were able to get 2/3 done with putting the walls up. Our plans are to clearcoat them and make them kind of rustic looking. We’re gonna leave the concrete floor concrete floor the way it is, because that’s the way it was back in the old days and then we’re gonna hang shelves all the way around the top. My plans are to have radiation detection kits on one side of the building and helmets on one side . I’m not sure what’s gonna go with the end of the building yet and we’re gonna have things hanging from the middle of the building from the roof. As far as patches and flags and stuff will be hanging from the ceiling. We’re heading that way soon, as the wall gets up and it’s done the AC HVAC guy will come in and do his work and I’ll be ready to start moving in. I plan to completely update my database as I put stuff in the building. Thanks for all the support and if anybody ever comes to Warsaw, Virginia, and you want to see this, please feel free to holler at me. I’d love to sit down and have something cold with you and relax and talk about civil defense stuff.

Well, we had some more advancement today in our civil defense building/museum electricity is in done inspected and cleared. We have circuits enough to provide light heating and air-conditioning is next and then all we have left to do is to put the wall boards up and stain them and we will be ready to move in and start our process of logging and everything that's been in storage. Everything I have recently received, adding it to the database and store it in a location where I can find it. When that is done, we will set up a small space and hopefully do a blog on civil defense equipment if I can learn how but it's coming......

Well, making a progress the floor is in. It’s great. I’ve moved about 1/5 of my collection to the center of the floor. The electricians coming in next week the AC and heating guy is coming in after that then I’ll be putting wallboard up and I have already got the lights up. I came up on two display cases that the base were in bad shape so I rebuilt the bases got them painted today so I’ll have at least two showcases to start off with !! Won’t be long.
