Volunteer work days to help the owner clean up the long-closed but photogenic Roadrunner Retreat restaurant near Chambless, California, have been set for Nov. 3-4, and a GoFundMe page has been launched to help defray its expenses. Beth Murray, organizer of the GoFundMe page, has set a relatively modest goal of $500. She wrote on the page (lightly edited for clarity): [ 450 more words ]

Saying Goodbye to the Studebaker Truck - California Route 66 Museum

It's time to say goodbye to the Studebaker truck, but goodbyes are sad.
So lets just say hello to a new adventure for both the Studebaker truck and for the California Route 66 Museum.
(The museum will still remain open and we are not going anywhere - please click on the post to read about the truck.)

For anyone that has visited the California Route 66 Museum, we are sure that you have seen our vintage green Studebaker truck within the parking lot. Many of the museum’s visitors have posed along side our old friend for a picture to capture moments of their adventures on Route 66. Photos of the t...

Hello All friends. I hope every is safe and take care about him(her)self. I'm writing here because of the situation with the corona virus, my wife and i , we have made we've never took the time to do before as many overs persons i think ! :-) And the great new is that our online project about the Route66, is coming.... Collectors, antique, vintage and creations with only Route 66 goods. A website different from all you have already seen till now, i promise you ! www.ROUTE66.store The project is already on line, and hat i would like to ask here (because i think a lot of persons should have time to spend) is to go to see what we are working on and to tell us what is good or what is bad, or that you should do better. The great opening will be on September (because i still have a lot of job to do on it !) I think this community is one of the best place to have critics for this project and i thank you all in advance for your time and your comments. Of course, when ths website will officially open (and if we can come to the Event at the end of August) we will apply special condition for all the members of this community to thank you for your support ! :-) But at this time, we only need your kind comments. Thanks and please all take care about yourself and family. We all think and support you here in France ! Route66.store
