The oldest art museum in the Crossroads area, The Nave Museum features five to seven diverse and compelling exhibits each year, both classical and modern, ranging in styles from portraiture and maintains a gallery of landscapes by celebrated Texas artist Royston Nave (1886-1931).

Registration is open for our next Teens’ and Children's classes!

Art Experience, Teen Edition: Friday, October 16th at 6:00 pm!
AND
Children's Art Experience: Saturday, October 17th at 10:00 am!

Both groups will make their own mini sculptures inspired by the art of our current exhibit stella alesi’s “I want to talk about you.” Using soft, colorful clay, they will mix and layer colors to make vibrant patterns for their sculpture. Students will get to squish and shape their sculptures, and glue them on a hand-painted platform for them to take home. This fun, hands-on project will be held at The Nave Museum, located at 306 W Commercial St. Victoria TX.

Please be aware that we accept only ages 7 - 12 for our children’s classes, and ages 13 - 17 for our teen classes in order to best accommodate our young artists and their specific needs. Our next volunteer information session is on Monday, October 12th, at 1 pm held at the Nave Museum located at 306 W. Commercial St. Victoria TX.

Stop by to learn more about the volunteer opportunities we have to offer. Help make art with students of all ages at our art classes. Help us make our community and member events go smoothly and learn new skills interacting with artists and art enjoyers.

Jeff Jennings, 2026
Houston-based artist Jeff Jennings brings a beautifully crafted retablo art piece exploring themes of pilgrimage and faith.

Artist statement:
“The body of St.James, patron saint of Spain, delivered to Galicia, establishing one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Christianity.”

This beautiful work alongside many others from over 25 artists will be on display as a part of our Día exhibit “The Art of Remembering” on display at the Nave to the public starting with our Free Día de los Mu***os community event on Saturday, October 31, 2026.

Have a fun fall weekend at The Nave Museum and spend Día de los Mu***os with us! 💀

On Friday, October 30, we’re hosting Calaveras & Cocktails, our fall fundraiser and cocktail party. Tickets are available at https://navemuseum.org/events/dia-de-los-muertos/

Our dynamic event will feature a retablo auction, signature drink, live musical entertainment, and more! Get your tickets today to attend the event, purchase a one-of-a-kind Día artwork, and spend an evening with friends in remembrance of those we love and in support of the Nave.

Return on Saturday, October 31st with the whole family for our free Dia community event!
Held at The Nave Museum from 12 p.m.- 4 p.m. 🌼

This event will feature six different Dia arts and crafts to make, alongside entertainment and refreshments. The event will end with a procession to the community ofrenda, where you can bring your crafts to leave as offerings.

We had an amazing evening with the Girl Scouts of Greater South Texas, painting portraits and learning all about a classic, Texas artist. 🖌️

Last week, we held our Girl Scouts: Art at The Nave lesson all about Royston Nave’s portraits. The museum’s namesake artist was the focus of their lesson, while their activity was all about self expression through painting their own portrait. They could paint self-portraits, or portraits of their friends or family, with any background they choose! The students all did great mixing colors, using references and brushstroke techniques.

They each received a unique fun patch for their wonderful work and dedicated listening during the lesson. It was great to see them have so much fun collaborating with each other and making art together. We’re excited to bring more art activities and lessons to The Girl Scouts, we can’t wait to see what more creations these talented girs will make!

Take a look at the beautiful masterpieces the students at our latest Teen’s and Children’s Art Experience classes made. 🖼️

Last week, they both got to paint landscapes inspired by Royston Nave’s landscape collection in our permanent exhibit. They could paint a landscape they took a photo of, or one created from their imagination. Each student had their own unique landscape to share, from beaches to sunsets and grassy fields, both groups made such lovely artworks!

We’re excited to host our first Children’s Art Experience class for October, coming up tomorrow morning! There’s still time to register for your child to make a painting, sculpture or craft of their own!

🌼💀 Celebrate Día de los Mu***os with us! 💀🌼

Registration is open for our first Children’s Art Experience class of October!

For Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:00am

Kids will be inspired by the various different artworks found in our Member’s Gallery. Unique artworks made by some of our museum members showcase paintings, sculpture, glasswork and more! Kids will get to pick their favorite art material to create their own personal masterpiece. Clay, painting, crafts and more! Make art using what you’re familiar with, or try something new! Have some fun making art with us at The Nave Museum. Registration is always Free!
