Mountain Arts Collective began with three local artists who wanted to showcase quality art by individuals closely connected to the community. Their goal is to create a dynamic space that will attract locals and visitors with high-end statement pieces to more affordable art and gifts. Dan Gaube specializes in nature-inspired woodwork and jewelry, combining various materials from nature into modern

works of art. Nancy Beckert is a fiber artist whose passion for the age-old tradition of weaving has led her to explore techniques and cultures from all over the world including Navajo weaving, Andean Pebble Weaving and Kumihimo, the art of Japanese braiding. Doug Jones is a photographer whose work reflects his unique perspective of the natural world. We are excited to be located at the Train Depot in the heart of Downtown Truckee!

We have so many stunning new creations by our incredible local artists, with mediums such as paintings, woodwork, metal sculpture, ceramics, jewelry and pottery. It’s going be PERFECT weather! Welcome new featured artist Erin Burk , from South Lake Tahoe! Each of Erin‘s works begins with a story, often inspired by a reference photo from an adventure. She transforms the land and life she encountered into the feeling of those memories. She explores color and simplification in her digital designs, and perspective and movement in her drawings and paintings. Work across these mediums continues to inform and involve her style. Erin draws inspiration from exploring the natural world through human powered movement. A forest scientist by trade, she is often found in treetops, gathering data, seed cones, and species-specific character traits that find their way into her art.

Original paintings by on display at MAC! Jane’s bold colors and impressionistic style of Tahoe/Truckee’s local landscapes pull the eye in from afar. All of her paintings are magnetic, luring in the viewer to feel a deep cheerful connection to our natural world. The last photo is a work in progress of her new original oil painting, looking up through an aspen stand. She also has many large giclee reproductions on canvas and small prints available at the gallery. Come by soon to see all of Jane’s beautiful new oil paintings in person!

Absolutely beautiful new blown glass creations by Hannah and Alana have just arrived. We are so excited to have these pieces! The floral bowls make for great centerpieces for your dining room table. Introducing our new featured artist, Astrid Mendieta. Astrid’s mission is to transform what lives within you and around you. Through her art, she hopes to awaken your inner fire 🔥. Her favorite subjects are animals and human figures. Astrid is very involved in the local Truckee community, not only as an artist, but also as a quantum healer, mentor and teacher. ✨Kristy has taken friendship bracelets to a whole other level! 30 years of friendship, countless memories, and an annual vacation tradition that’s still going strong. This year, these best buds marked it with something special, with custom bracelets designed just for them, a reminder of their unique bond.
Kristy Braun uses high quality Japanese glass delica beads that don’t fade in color. She has the unique ability to see complimentary colors and geometric shapes, resulting in some really impressive beadwork. And she has an incredible amount of patience! Huge shoutout to all work she does running Mountain Arts Collective, while being a dedicated full time mother of three rad kids.
