Since we are closed on Mondays, we are observing Indigenous Peoples' Day on Sunday, October 11th. All enrolled members of Indigenous and First Nation tribes will receive complimentary admission to the museum on Sunday.

This fall, we are excited to present one of our tastiest Heritage Skills Workshops, Oyster Shucking! Come and join us to learn about these long-enjoyed gifts from the Salish Sea, the choices of oysters that you can find along the Puget Sound, and to try your hand at shucking oysters. All tools and equipment provided, just bring an appetite for oysters!

We had an amazing Candlelight Tour this year. Thank you to everyone who joined us in 1859! But because of Candlelight, we have to take a little time to reset the fort back into proper order, and so we will be closed Today, October 4th. We will be open to the public again on Thursday, October 8th with our new seasonal hours of Thursday through Sunday, 11am - 4pm.

We have only 55 tickets left for this years Candlelight event! If you have been waiting to get yours now is the time to act! Candlelight is Oct. 2 & Oct. 3rd between 6pm-10pm! Tickets are timed slots, and the experience is roughly an hour from start to finish. Travel back in time to eavesdrop on the affairs of the Puget Sound in 1859. More than one hundred interpreters bring the people of the Hudson’s Bay Company to life. Be entertained by songs, dance, and games. During the tours, these inhabitants of the past will not be aware if their 21st century visitors.

It's that time of the year again. As we move to fall and then into winter, so do our hours of operation. This year, starting October 1st, we will transition into our off-season hours. We will be open to the public Thursday through Sunday, from 11am to 4pm. Rest assured, Mahsie, Eena, and the chickens will have plenty of company on the days we are not open to the public.

Candlelight is only 4 days away! And its the perfect way to start the spooky and autumnal season with family and friends! Experience a night illuminated by candlelight and flame while you travel to the past peering in on scenes from 1859 all while you go unnoticed... as if your a ghost. Children’s Chores– Carry water with a yoke, wash clothes and experience other chores that were part of the day to day life of children.
Wool Workshop– Clean and card wool, learn to use a drop spindle and make a wool felt project.
Playing in the Past– Make a 19th century toy and play the games and activities that have delighted children for ages.
Food and Fire– Help build and start a fire, churn butter and make biscuits on a stick.
Light the Night– Make your own candle and learn how they lit the dark in the mid 1800s.
