Fort Nisqually Living History Museum staff recently received the Historic Preservation Recognition Award from the Mary Ball Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, honoring their commitment to historical accuracy, public education and creating meaningful connections to life in the Puget Sound region during the 1850s.

The award was presented during this year’s Brigade Encampment. Which felt like a fitting moment to celebrate the staff whose research, interpretation, traditional skills and passion help make the Fort feel alive for every visitor.
