Grand Prize Winner: Tynan Byrne | Tynan Byrne
Tynan Byrne (b.1992) is a photographer in Somerville, MA. His series center around intimate and honest aspects of his life as a gay man–harkening back to childhood in Maine, his interpersonal relationships, literature, and love for the history and methodologies of photography itself. The work in his current series challenges the notion that male nudity is too often reserved for and confined to sexual settings; that when gay men occupy such an intimate space with straight men it is done so as an act of exploitation. His photographs exemplify fraternity evolving, quelling dormant anxieties of unworthiness and disavowing fears of inequality.
Most recently, he has had work exhibited in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Montgomery, Alabama, Dallas, Texas, and Cambridge, Massachusetts, as well as several online galleries and publications. He received his first solo exhibition at Gallery Kayafas in Boston, Massachusetts which ran in the Spring of 2022. Byrne a part of the artist critique group Recently, and is currently working to create a new artist collective in the Boston area of gay and q***r artists, creating a space for its members to share their work amongst like minds and seek out opportunities for exhibition, publication, and discourse. He currently works as the Instructional Media Technologist within the Art Department at the University of Massachusetts, Boston.

Honorable Mention: Anastasia Sierra | Anastasia Sierra
Anastasia Sierra is a photographer based in Cambridge, MA. Her work investigates the psychological complexities of motherhood, womanhood, and the domestic sphere, revealing profound vulnerability inherent in intergenerational bonds.
Sierra’s photographs have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions at the Griffin Museum of Photography, Danforth Art Museum, Emerson Contemporary Gallery, Panopticon Gallery, Blue Sky Gallery and Soho Photo Gallery. She is the recipient of a 2026 LensCulture Art Photography Award, was named a 2025 Photolucida Critical Mass Top 50 finalist, and is included in the 2025 Lenscratch Student Prize: Top 25 to Watch.
Her work is featured in the anthology Eye Mama: Poetic Truths of Home and Motherhood (teNeues Verlag, 2023) and has appeared in DEAR DAVE, Lenscratch, and Musée Magazine. Sierra holds a BA in Linguistics and an MFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design (2026).

Kyndel Whiteford is a multidisciplinary artist from New Jersey. She commonly uses self portraiture and still life scenes to discuss themes of gender, attraction, and consumption. Whiteford utilizes her strengths in painting and collage to transform her printed photographs into dynamic 3d art pieces. Her work has been featured in The Weasel, The Q***r Voice, and the Too Tired Project. In 2026, she earned a BFA with honors in photography at Massachusetts College of Art & Design in Boston, MA.

Honorable Mention: Lindsey Filowitz | Lindsey Filowitz
Lindsey Filowitz is an image-based interdisciplinary artist. She was born and grew up in Brooklyn, NY. Her work addresses transformation (physical, emotional, social), societal pressures and confines, states of political duress, and the impact of images on culture. Their conceptual framework is informed by intersecting Peruvian-American, Jewish, q***r, afab, ailed, and passing identities. Lindsey has exhibited throughout the Bay Area, New York, Boston and Los Angeles, as well as internationally. She received her BFA in Photography from Bard College in 2011 and previously had careers in the art world and biomaterials. They are currently pursuing a MFA in Studio Art at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. Lindsey is based between Boston, the Bay Area, and Brooklyn.

Max LaBelle is an artist living and working in Central Massachusetts. He graduated from The Massachusetts College of Arts and Design in 2019 with a BFA in photography, and The University of Hartford’s low residency program with an MFA in photography in 2025. He has worked as an assistant and studio manager for Abelardo Morell since 2019.

Chloe Ronco is a q***r visual artist from Boston, MA, and a recent graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art and Design’s photography program. Her work explores themes of family, identity, and mental health, drawing from her own experiences as the eldest daughter in a working-class household. Through intimate, personal storytelling, she aims to shed light on the realities of addiction, generational trauma, and mental illness. Chloe’s practice is driven by a deep commitment to mental health advocacy, using her art to amplify voices often overlooked and to foster understanding and empathy for those navigating similar challenges.

We're honored to have such a powerhouse jury for this year's Adjective Production Prize! Deadline to submit is Sunday, May 10th at midnight!
harper is a Guggenheim Fellow and Harvard Professor of Art, Film, and Visual Studies whose photography and video explore technology, perception, and our relationship to the living environment. Her work is held in the permanent collections of major institutions including MoMA, the Whitney, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Harvard Art Museums, and the Denver Art Museum, among others.

is a Lebanese-born American/Palestinian photographer and 2018 Guggenheim Fellow whose work explores identity, female adolescence, and womanhood across the United States and the Middle East. Her photographs have been widely exhibited at institutions including the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, LACMA, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and are held in the permanent collections of several museums. Recent highlights include a mid-career retrospective at the Cleveland Museum of Art and curating "Louder Than Hearts," a 2025 exhibition of women from the Arab World and Iran at the Middle East Institute in Washington, DC.

Born in Tokyo, is an interdisciplinary artist whose work is held in collections including the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the ICA, the Baltimore Museum of Art, and the List Visual Arts Center at MIT. A four-time Massachusetts Cultural Council Award winner, the only artist in its history to win in four separate disciplines, she has also received five MacDowell Fellowships and maintains an ongoing affiliation as Artist-in-Residence at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Represented by Yancey Richardson Gallery since 2006, her work has been reviewed in Art in America, The New Yorker, and The New York Times.
