The art of Dick Lobonte’
(1921-2011)
Dick Labonte’ was born in Battle Creek MI and grew up in Wilmette, Il. He served in the U.S. Navy as a commanding officer. His post war business career included 28 years at McGraw-Hill Publishing Company in NY. He went into early retirement in the 1970’s and began his career as an artist.
He focused on nostalgic paintings of the New Jersey Shore. Dick was listed in “Who’s Who in American Art”.
Along with prints of his work, we also have his book: “Dick Labonte’: Paintings of the Jersey Shore and More”, published by Jersey Shore Publications. It includes over 160
images of paintings with comments about each piece written by the artist.
A special thank you to Anne LaBonte Neff Anne Neff, Dick’s daughter and Anchor and Palette for sharing his works with us, and are proud to represent Bay Head’s very own legend!
